Is the 2022 BMW 7 Series a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2022 BMW 7 Series backs that up with a full-size luxury-sedan formula centered on advanced technology and a wide range of powertrains. It offers the kind of powertrain variety that is unusual in the segment, while still aiming to deliver the comfort and prestige expected from a top-tier luxury sedan. For you, that means it can fit different priorities, whether you care more about efficiency, performance, or a more traditional luxury experience.

The market also looks reasonably accessible, with 35.1% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 BMW 7 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 BMW 7 Series is presented as a flagship luxury sedan with a broad range of powertrains and a strong emphasis on advanced technology, which can make it appealing if you want a highly equipped used luxury car. Its mix of comfort, capability, and available all-wheel drive suggests it was engineered to handle daily use with a premium feel.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a complex, heavily equipped luxury sedan can be costly to keep in top condition if prior maintenance was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 BMW 7 Series?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus your inspection on signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or deferred maintenance. Because this is a high-end sedan with a long options list, pay close attention to how well the electronics, comfort features, and powertrain systems operate together. A careful pre-purchase inspection matters most on cars like this, where condition can vary widely from one listing to the next.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 BMW 7 Series?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 667 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,832, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 BMW 7 Series's resale value?

The current average of $41,846 sits slightly below last year's $49,052.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of further depreciation. The broad appeal of the 7 Series' technology and powertrain variety can help support demand, especially among shoppers looking for a well-equipped flagship sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW 7 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $60,536, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $41,846 average.
• It adds a more comfort-focused, better-handling feel with styling that may be polarizing.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the stronger value proposition and a wider cushion between asking prices and the market average. If you care more about the newer model's comfort and driving polish, the 2023 is the better fit, but price-sensitive buyers will likely find the 2022 easier to justify.
