How much does the 2022 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 9.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,538 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Acura MDX earns a 4.75/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating.

The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise the MDX for its handling, interior quality, comfort, and overall blend of luxury and practicality. The styling and driving feel also come up often as strengths, along with the sense that it delivers a lot of utility without losing its upscale character.

The main trade-offs are its technology quirks and some feature omissions, plus the cramped third row noted in the overview. That means it fits you best if you want a polished, engaging three-row luxury crossover and can live with less-than-maximal rear-seat space.

The market shows 38.0% good or great deals, which points to solid shopping opportunities.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a reliable, dependable, and trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers expressing confidence in the MDX over the long term. The expert evaluation also emphasizes a solid, rigid structure and a powertrain that works smoothly and confidently, which supports the impression of durable day-to-day use.

The cost-effectiveness notes also frame it as a reliable, elegant, fun transportation choice for up to seven passengers. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about core durability and more about whether the vehicle’s technology and feature set match your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Acura MDX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on condition, electronics, and signs of prior damage or poor repair work. Because this is a luxury three-row SUV, it also makes sense to pay close attention to how well the cabin, seats, and controls have held up.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base MDX uses 19-inch wheels, while Tech and above get 20-inch wheels, and the cabin materials and equipment become more upscale as you move up the lineup.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic; SH-AWD is optional on MDX and Tech and standard on higher trims.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes collision mitigation braking system, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assist, road departure mitigation, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitor, expanded pedestrian detection capability, and traffic-jam assist.
• Infotainment: All models get a 12.3-inch landscape screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, built-in Amazon Alexa, OTA updates, and a WiFi hotspot; navigation starts on Tech and above.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the provided data.

Which 2022 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: MDX, Tech Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package.

Here's the short version:

• MDX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core MDX experience with the V6, 10-speed automatic, AcuraWatch, and the standard 12.3-inch screen. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable without navigation or the richer audio and convenience upgrades.
• Tech Package: This is the best-value trim because it adds navigation and the stronger ELS Studio audio system while keeping the MDX’s balanced character intact. It’s the trim to target if you want the sweet spot between price, equipment, and everyday usability.
• A-Spec Package: This is the sportier-looking choice, and it also brings the higher-end audio system and CabinTalk. It suits you if style matters and you want a more expressive version of the MDX.
• Advance Package: This is the luxury-focused trim, with the most upscale equipment, a head-up display, and the available surround-view camera upgrade. It fits you best if you want the most comfort and convenience features.

AcuraWatch is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim for the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,538 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,598, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $33,598 sits slightly below last year's $37,255.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum alone.

Because the MDX still shows strong shopper interest and a healthy inventory mix, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Higher-trim vehicles with desirable features may also hold attention better than stripped examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX safe?

The 2022 Acura MDX hasn’t yet received published crash-test ratings from IIHS or NHTSA in the provided data.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard on all MDX models, and it includes collision mitigation braking system, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assist, road departure mitigation, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitor, expanded pedestrian detection capability, and traffic-jam assist. The MDX also adds low-speed braking control, which can automatically brake if needed in tight, low-speed situations.

The safety content also notes a higher percentage of high-strength steel, an advanced safety structure, and pedestrian-focused front-end design changes. One caveat is that the crash-test results were not yet released in the provided data, so you should check for updated ratings before buying.

Should I buy a 2022 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a new platform, new design, and a more polished fourth-generation feel.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $38,279, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $33,598 average.
• It adds complimentary AcuraLink connected services and scheduled maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the stronger buy because it already delivers the redesigned MDX experience at a lower average price. If you’re willing to pay more for added ownership perks and newer-model-year updates, the 2023 is the better alternative.
