Used 2021 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearProvidence, RI

How much does the 2021 Volvo XC60 cost?

Prices have softened 11.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 764 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Volvo XC60 a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Volvo XC60 earns 4.5/5 from owners and 8/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its luxurious comfort, great safety features, and intuitive technology. You also get a smooth driving experience and a design that many shoppers find visually appealing.

The main trade-offs are an unimpressive electric range and a harsher ride on larger wheels. For you, that means the XC60 makes the most sense if you want an upscale, everyday-friendly SUV with a premium feel rather than maximum efficiency or the softest ride.

The market looks reasonably healthy, with 35.5% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2021 Volvo XC60 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with repeated praise for comfort, safety, and technology that owners can count on. The XC60’s performance also supports that impression, with a solid, secure feel on the road and a cabin that stays serenely quiet.

Volvo also notes that the XC60 can be driven efficiently, and the plug-in hybrid setup adds electric-only capability for short trips. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about core durability and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and doesn’t have unresolved issues from prior use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free status is only a starting point. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on ride quality, electronics, and any signs of uneven wear. It also helps to compare how the cabin, controls, and safety equipment function on the specific vehicle you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XC60’s cabin is defined by clean lines, authentic materials, and a serene aura, while top trims add fashionable 21-inch alloy wheels. Base-trim shoppers should pay attention to how much of the upscale feel and equipment they’re getting versus the higher trims.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic, with T5 models offering 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, T6 models delivering 316 hp and 295 lb-ft, and T8 models adding an electric motor for 400 hp and 472 lb-ft combined. The T8 plug-in hybrid can travel up to 19 miles on electric power.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping aid, run-off road protection, run-off road mitigation, and a rear park assist camera. Pilot Assist is available, and some advanced driver-assistance functions are not standard.
• Infotainment: The XC60 uses Volvo’s Sensus system with a 9-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a WiFi hotspot are built in, but the system has a learning curve and some owners wish for wireless CarPlay.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA fuel economy figures range from 22 mpg city/29 mpg highway/25 mpg combined for the T5 FWD to 27 mpg combined for the T8 PHEV and 57 MPGe combined in electric-only mode.

Which 2021 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

• T5 FWD Momentum: This is the entry point and the best-value choice if you want the XC60’s core luxury, safety, and style at the lowest starting price.
• T5 R-Design: Choose this if you want a sportier look and feel without moving all the way up the range.
• T5 Inscription: This is the pick if you want a more upscale presentation and are willing to pay for it.

• T5 AWD Inscription: This is for shoppers who want the most refined version of the T5 setup.
• T6 AWD Momentum: This is the better choice if you want more power and standard AWD without jumping to the plug-in hybrid.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 764 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,727, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $23,756 sits slightly below last year's $26,981.

That price movement suggests the XC60 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right number. If you pay close to the current average or below it, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it’s time to sell.

The model’s strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand in the used market. Buyers tend to respond well to vehicles that deliver comfort, safety, and a premium feel, and that can make your XC60 easier to move later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2021 XC60 was awarded a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and the XC60 T5/T5 AWD and XC60 T6 AWD received five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, collision avoidance, low- and high-speed collision mitigation, vehicle/cyclist/large animal detection, driver alert control, run-off road protection, run-off road mitigation, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping aid, oncoming mitigation, front, side, and curtain airbags with driver-side knee airbag, whiplash protection system in front seats, slippery road/hazard light alert, rear park assist camera, power child locks on the rear doors, and care key.

Pilot Assist is available if you want a hands-on semi-autonomous system that combines adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist. The main caveat is that some advanced driver-assistance capability is optional rather than standard.

Should I buy a 2021 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 XC60 combines luxury-level appointments, cool Scandinavian style, exceptional safety features, and a lusty powertrain.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,935, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $23,756 average.
• It adds new mild-hybrid powertrains and Android-based infotainment.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2021 is the stronger buy because prices have softened and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to spend more for newer tech and updated powertrains, the 2022 is the better path.
