Why it stands out
The 2021 Toyota 4Runner continues to be a strong candidate for buyers seeking a reliable midsize SUV, particularly for those with an adventurous lifestyle. Despite being somewhat dated, its rugged image, spacious interior, and off-road performance remain its most significant strengths. The 4Runner offers a robust 4.0-liter V6 engine producing 270 horsepower, ensuring it meets the needs of off-road excursions with ease. While it does have some drawbacks, such as less-than-stellar fuel economy (averaging around 17 mpg) and a somewhat rough ride on pavement, its reputation for reliability and resale value makes it appealing. Many owners appreciate the 4Runner’s practicality, roomy cabin, and advanced safety technologies. Overall, even though some modern features are absent and handling can be cumbersome, the 4Runner maintains a loyal following thanks to its off-road prowess and sturdy build.

A classic top of the line quality vehicle for the price. The TRD is a fun version but I think the Luxury of the Limited is unmatched and can still be customized if you want. Love the automatic back window!

I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The 4Runner is beautiful inside & out. Hardly any road noise, it has so much room and I love the remote start. It’s everything I’ve wanted and I’ll definitely feel safer on the road with my newborn.
