Used 2021 Nissan Kicks for Sale nearLafayette, LA

How much does the 2021 Nissan Kicks cost?

Prices have softened 6.88% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,137 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 Nissan Kicks a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Nissan Kicks earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

The data points to a small crossover that fits your life best if you want something simple, affordable, and easy to recommend for commuting or city driving. It stands out for being fuel-efficient, offering standard advanced safety features, and including an impressive stereo.

The trade-offs are clear too: performance is fairly pedestrian, a manual transmission is not available, and cargo space is limited. Even so, the refreshed 2021 model adds more features, which helps it make sense if you value everyday usefulness over speed.

32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2021 Nissan Kicks reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2021 Kicks is presented as a straightforward, value-focused crossover with a strong emphasis on efficiency and everyday usability. Its standard 1.6-liter four-cylinder and CVT setup are described as delivering enough power for the vehicle’s size, and the model’s fuel economy helps keep ownership predictable.

The expert notes also point to a strong history of few recalls, which is a useful sign for used-car shoppers. On the cost side, the model’s easy-to-shop packaging and budget-friendly positioning support the idea that it should be manageable to own over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Kicks is built around practicality rather than performance, so you should expect modest acceleration and make sure the vehicle has been maintained well.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Nissan Kicks?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are not the same thing as guaranteed problem-free vehicles. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on wear, signs of prior damage, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re considering.

Pay close attention to condition, especially if you’re shopping a lower-priced example. The Kicks is a value-oriented model, so a clean, well-kept vehicle matters more than chasing the cheapest listing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S trim is the most stripped-down version, while the SV and SR add more comfort and convenience equipment. The SR stands out further with LED headlights, LED fog lights, black heated outside mirrors with integrated turn signals, a rear roof-mounted spoiler, and dark chrome grille accents, while the SR Premium Package adds Prima-Tex-appointed seating with a three-tone design and stitching.
• Powertrain: Every 2021 Kicks uses a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 122 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque, paired with Nissan’s Xtronic CVT and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is not available, and the model is tuned more for efficiency and easy driving than quick acceleration.
• Safety package: Every Kicks comes with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. Kicks SV and SR also add a driver alertness monitor and rear door alert.
• Infotainment: The base S gets a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, three USB ports, keyless entry, push-button start, and Easy Fill Tire Alert. The SV adds Nissan Intelligent Key, automatic climate control, a 7-inch driver information screen, satellite radio, remote engine start, and a USB-C port, while the SR Premium Package adds the Bose Personal Plus sound system and available over-the-air infotainment updates through NissanConnect services.
• Fuel efficiency: The Kicks is rated at 31 mpg in the city, 36 mpg on the highway, and 33 mpg combined, with 356 miles of range on a single tank of gas.

Which 2021 Nissan Kicks trim should I buy?

The 2021 Nissan Kicks is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, SR.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and the core Kicks experience. You still get the standard safety suite, a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and the fuel-efficient powertrain, but you give up the extra comfort and convenience features found higher up the range.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a more complete everyday setup without pushing you into the top price tier. You get Nissan Intelligent Key, automatic climate control, a driver information screen, satellite radio, remote engine start, a USB-C port, and rear disc brakes.
• SR: This is the trim to choose if you want the most upscale look and the most equipment. It adds LED headlights, LED fog lights, black heated outside mirrors with integrated turn signals, a rear roof spoiler, dark chrome grille accents, and the integrated dynamic-control module with active engine brake, intelligent trace control, and intelligent ride control.

Every trim comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, and the SV and SR add a driver alertness monitor and rear door alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Nissan Kicks?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,137 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.88% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 77.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,491, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Nissan Kicks's resale value?

The current average of $14,567 sits slightly below last year's $15,643.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the Kicks easier to buy now but may also mean future resale gains are limited unless demand strengthens. For you as a seller, the upside is that the model’s affordability and efficiency should keep it relevant to budget-minded shoppers.

Its strong value proposition helps support demand, especially because it offers standard safety equipment and good fuel economy. If you keep mileage reasonable and the vehicle in clean condition, you should have a better shot at holding buyer interest.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Nissan Kicks safe?

The 2021 Kicks has not been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2021 Kicks comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. Nissan also equips every Kicks with 10 airbags, and the SV and SR add a driver alertness monitor and rear door alert.

One caveat to keep in mind is that the mechanically similar prior model had mixed headlight results depending on trim, so it’s worth paying attention to the lighting equipment on the specific vehicle you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2021 Nissan Kicks or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It was refreshed for 2021 with more features, including updated styling and a stronger equipment story.

The bottom line: The 2021 model is the better pick if you want the refreshed version with more features and a still-affordable price point. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby year may be worth considering, but you’ll want to balance that against the 2021’s added equipment and stronger overall appeal.
