Used 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid for Sale nearHouston, TX

How much does the 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid cost?

Prices have softened 2.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 159 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid a good car?

With a 3.7/5 user rating and a 6.2/10 expert rating, the 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid is appealing if you value comfort and efficiency more than cutting-edge refinement. The NX stands out for its stylish design, comfortable ride, and fuel-efficient nature, but it also shows its age and falls short of what you might expect from a premium SUV.

The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Its biggest trade-offs are the cheap-feeling interior materials and sluggish performance, and the limited cargo space also makes it less versatile than some rivals. If you want a compact luxury SUV that prioritizes a comfortable character and good fuel economy, it fits that use case better than shoppers looking for a more modern or engaging premium crossover.

37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid reliable?

The 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid leans on a proven hybrid setup and a long-running platform, which helps explain why it avoids major faults even as its design feels dated. Its hybrid powertrain is tuned more for efficiency than excitement, and the drivetrain’s clunky handoff between electric and gasoline power is part of the ownership experience you should expect.

Lexus also backs the hybrid system with an eight-year, 100,000-mile warranty for hybrid components, including the battery pack, which is a meaningful ownership perk. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about catastrophic reliability and more about living with an older-feeling luxury SUV that may not satisfy if you expect modern refinement.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free status is only a starting point. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the hybrid system, interior condition, and any signs of heavy wear, since the NX’s age and premium positioning make condition especially important. Pay close attention to how the cabin materials, controls, and cargo area have held up.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model gets 17-inch wheels, while the F Sport Black Line treatment adds larger mesh-grille styling, dark-finish 18-inch wheels, an F Sport heated steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and blue contrast stitching; the Luxury model gets real leather upholstery. The Black Line package adds sportier styling, but the cabin materials still feel more mainstream than luxury.
• Powertrain: The hybrid setup uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for 194 horsepower, and it comes with standard all-wheel drive. It’s tuned for efficiency rather than quick acceleration, and the drivetrain can feel clunky when you ask for more power.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with steering assist, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and Lane Tracing Assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard for 2021.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses an 8-inch display, with a 10.3-inch screen optional. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa compatibility, and a built-in WiFi hotspot are included, but the system uses a touchpad instead of a touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: The NX Hybrid is rated at 31 mpg combined (33 mpg city, 30 mpg highway), and real-world testing returned 28.9 mpg.

Which 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid is offered in 2 trim levels: base and Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the value play if you want the NX Hybrid’s core strengths without paying extra for luxury trim upgrades. You still get the hybrid powertrain, standard all-wheel drive, and the full safety suite, but the cabin materials and infotainment setup are still the same dated weak points.
• Luxury: Choose this if you want a more upscale cabin, since it adds real leather upholstery. It makes the NX feel a bit more premium, but it doesn’t fully solve the model’s age or tech shortcomings.

All NX models come standard with Lexus Safety System+ 2.0, plus blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 159 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 77.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,484, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $30,894 sits slightly below last year's $31,549.

That softer pricing suggests the NX Hybrid has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help if you buy used and plan to sell later. The current market also shows a fairly tight year-round range, so a well-priced example should hold its appeal better than a poorly maintained one. If you keep mileage and condition in check, you should have a reasonable path to resale, but the model’s aging design may limit upside versus fresher rivals.

Is the 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid safe?

The 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid earns a Top Safety Pick+ award from IIHS and five-star overall safety ratings from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side crash tests and four-star ratings in frontal and rollover crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with steering assist, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and Lane Tracing Assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard for 2021.

The main caveat is the Acceptable LATCH child-seat anchor ease-of-use rating, which is the one area where the NX doesn’t fully match its otherwise excellent safety performance.

Should I buy a 2021 Lexus NX Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.08% compared with last year.
• The 2021 stands out for its strong safety score and standard driver aids, while also adding a new F Sport Black Line special edition and additional standard driver aids.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the better pick if you want the NX Hybrid’s safety, comfort, and efficiency at a softer used-car price. If you’re mainly shopping on budget, a different year may still make sense, but the 2021 gives you a good mix of inventory, safety, and value.
