How much does the 2021 Hyundai Palisade cost?

There are 3,195 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price and condition.

Is the 2021 Hyundai Palisade a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Hyundai Palisade earns a 4.64/5 user rating and a 9/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, abundant features, and comfortable ride. The review summary also points to its elegant design and high-tech capabilities, and many shoppers compare it favorably to more expensive luxury SUVs.

The main trade-offs are its fairly pedestrian performance, along with some complaints about cabin noise at higher speeds and interior materials that can feel less premium than the price suggests. Even so, the Palisade’s roomy, family-friendly layout and upscale presentation make it a strong fit if you want a polished three-row SUV for everyday use.

With 36.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value in the market.

Is the 2021 Hyundai Palisade reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels spacious, comfortable, and well equipped, which usually matters a lot when you’re planning to keep a family SUV for the long haul. The review summary also suggests that buyers appreciate the Palisade’s high-tech features and overall polish, both of which can support confidence over time.

On the expert side, the Palisade is described as quiet, easy to live with, and well suited to everyday driving, with strong body control and a composed ride. It also comes with a free three-year/36,000-mile scheduled maintenance plan, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for properly, especially if you’re shopping a higher-mileage example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Hyundai Palisade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean title percentage does not replace a full records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on interior wear, electronics, and signs of hard family use, since this SUV’s appeal depends heavily on its comfort and feature content. It also makes sense to compare trim equipment closely, because some of the most useful safety and convenience features are not universal across the lineup.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes SE, SEL, Limited, and Calligraphy. The Calligraphy stands out with a different grille pattern, revised exterior lighting, unique 20-inch wheels, upgraded interior detailing, and a simulated suede headliner, while the Limited remains appealing but does not get the same visual distinction. The base trim is less richly appointed than the upper versions, so you should compare equipment carefully if you want the most upscale feel.
• Powertrain: Every model uses a 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available. The setup is tuned more for smooth, predictable everyday driving than for quick acceleration.
• Safety package: Every Palisade includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, multiple lane-keeping systems, rear occupant alert, active blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, and Safe Exit Assist. Limited and Calligraphy trims add a Blind View Monitor and a more sophisticated ultrasonic rear occupant alert system.
• Infotainment: Two screen sizes are offered: 8 inches and 10.25 inches. Only the 8-inch system gets wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the larger screen requires a wired connection for smartphone mirroring. Blue Link connected services, wireless smartphone charging, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system are available on higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA predicts 21 mpg in combined driving for an all-wheel-drive Palisade, and the test vehicle averaged 21.1 mpg on a driving loop.

Which 2021 Hyundai Palisade trim should I buy?

The 2021 Hyundai Palisade is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited, Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the Palisade’s core space, safety, and V6 power at the lowest price. It gives you the fundamentals, but you’ll miss some of the richer comfort and luxury touches that make the higher trims feel special.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday convenience and helps the Palisade feel better equipped without jumping all the way to luxury territory. If you want a balanced mix of features and price, this is the trim to focus on first.
• Limited: This is the right choice if you want a more upscale cabin and more advanced safety tech. It adds the Blind View Monitor and the ultrasonic rear occupant alert system, making it a strong pick for families who want more confidence and convenience.
• Calligraphy: This is the most luxurious version, with the most distinctive styling and the richest interior presentation. If you want the Palisade to feel as premium as possible, this is the trim that delivers that experience.

The Limited and Calligraphy trims also get the Blind View Monitor and the more advanced ultrasonic rear occupant alert system, which are useful safety upgrades to keep in mind.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Hyundai Palisade?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,195 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.90% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,094, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Hyundai Palisade's resale value?

The current average of $23,094 sits slightly below last year's $26,515.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at today’s average or below, you’re starting from a more favorable price base than a buyer who paid last year’s higher average.

For a future seller, the key is to buy a well-kept example and avoid overpaying for a trim or option package that the market does not reward enough later. Strong condition and desirable equipment matter more when prices have already softened.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Hyundai Palisade safe?

The 2021 Hyundai Palisade earns top safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Palisade includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, multiple lane-keeping systems, rear occupant alert, active blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, and Safe Exit Assist. Limited and Calligraphy trims add a Blind View Monitor and a more advanced ultrasonic rear occupant alert system that can detect movement and send a text message after you’ve left and locked the vehicle.

Highway Drive Assist is a standout feature because it works smoothly and can handle distance, speed, and lane maintenance very well. It is not designed for hands-free driving, so you still need to keep your hands on the wheel.

Should I buy a 2021 Hyundai Palisade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 adds more standard equipment, expanded infotainment capabilities, and a new luxury-themed Calligraphy trim.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,646, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $23,094 average.
• It offers strong value with a spacious, comfortable, and versatile family-SUV mission.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $25,770, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $23,094 average.
• It keeps the same roomy family-hauler formula with a polished design and broad feature set.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the best all-around choice if you want the strongest mix of value, equipment, and safety. If your budget is tighter, the 2020 is the better price-first alternative, while the 2022 makes sense only if you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year.
