Used 2021 Hyundai Elantra for Sale near Connecticut

How much does the 2021 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 4.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,160 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2021 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Hyundai Elantra earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners repeatedly praise its smooth ride, great fuel economy, and comfortable seating, and they also like the value and attractive features it delivers. That lines up with the overview, which frames this Elantra as a compact car that feels more upscale than the class norm and works well for shoppers who want style, technology, and comfort without moving upmarket.

The trade-offs are clear: the design can be polarizing, and the interior materials can feel cheap. Even so, the market shows 31.4% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car people feel good about living with over time, especially because it is described as delivering great fuel economy, a smooth ride, and strong value. That kind of day-to-day consistency matters when you want a used car you can count on.

Hyundai also backs the Elantra with a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and 5-year/60,000-mile limited warranty, plus three free years of scheduled maintenance and roadside assistance. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Hyundai Elantra?

At 68.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in any collision or shows uneven wear. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, tire wear, and signs that the cabin or electronics have been repaired poorly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited trims differ in styling, cabin quality, and tech, and the higher trims feel noticeably nicer and more high-tech. The base trim is the most stripped-down, while the Limited stands out for its upscale interior presentation.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a CVT, while the N Line adds a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine with a manual or optional DCT. The hybrid uses a 1.6-liter engine with an electric motor and a DCT, and it is the efficiency-focused choice.
• Safety package: SmartSense is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, lane-centering assistance, automatic high-beam headlights, and driver attention warning. Blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, Rear Occupant Alert, and Safe Exit Warning are also included across the lineup.
• Infotainment: SE, SEL, and N Line trims use an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Limited upgrades to a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, but wireless smartphone integration is lost with that setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard engine is rated at 35 mpg combined with 17-inch wheels, the hybrid SEL is rated at 54 mpg combined, the hybrid Limited is rated at 50 mpg combined, and the N Line is rated at 28 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2021 Hyundai Elantra is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the simplest way into the redesigned Elantra, and it gives you the core styling, standard SmartSense safety tech, and the 8-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone integration. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the model and can live without the extra comfort and tech upgrades.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more convenience and tech while staying below the sportier and more expensive versions. If you want the sweet spot between price, features, and everyday usability, this is the one to focus on.
• N Line: Choose this if you want the most engaging standard gas model, since it adds the turbocharged engine, sport suspension tuning, quicker steering, larger brakes, and a more performance-oriented feel. It suits you best if driving enjoyment matters more than maximum comfort or efficiency.
• Limited: This is the most upscale non-hybrid trim, with the 10.25-inch display setup, digital gauge cluster, navigation, ambient lighting, and a more premium cabin presentation. It is the right pick if you want the most polished Elantra experience and are willing to pay for it.

Safety-package note: SmartSense is standard across the lineup, and the higher trims add more advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Hyundai Elantra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,160 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,365, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $15,672 sits slightly below last year's $16,353.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than broad market momentum alone.

Because the Elantra has strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal, well-kept examples should still attract buyers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Hyundai Elantra safe?

The 2021 Hyundai Elantra earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2021 Elantra comes with SmartSense, Hyundai’s suite of driver-assistance features. Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, lane-centering assistance, automatic high-beam headlights, and driver attention warning. Blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, Rear Occupant Alert, and Safe Exit Warning are also included on every version.

Higher trims add cyclist detection, junction turning assistance, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, rear automatic braking, and Highway Drive Assist. That makes the upper trims especially appealing if you want the most complete safety and convenience package.

Should I buy a 2021 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings style, technology, space, and value together in a way that broadens its appeal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $13,585, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $15,672 average.
• It adds value-focused improvements like free maintenance and new standard safety features.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $16,881, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $15,672 average.
• It builds on the redesign with strong fuel economy, more safety tech, and a roomy cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of style, tech, and value, the 2021 is the primary target. If your budget is tighter, the 2020 can save you money, while the 2022 makes sense if you want to pay more for a slightly newer take on the same formula.
