Used 2021 Honda Ridgeline for Sale nearVirginia Beach, VA

How much does the 2021 Honda Ridgeline cost?

Prices have softened 5.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 829 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 5/5, and our experts give it 7/10. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the comfort, ride quality, impressive features, smooth driving experience, spacious interior, and innovative truck bed and cargo space. In use, that lines up well with the Ridgeline’s role as a stylish, comfortable midsize crew cab pickup with a practical cargo area.

The trade-offs are clear: it does not offer alternate bed or cab configurations, and its towing and payload capacities are limited. Even so, it fits you well if you want a pickup that feels more polished and easygoing than many rivals.

With 34.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s enough market flexibility to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as comfortable, smooth, and impressive in everyday use, with language that points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience. The truck’s refined V6 powertrain and standard all-wheel-drive setup also support that impression of long-term confidence.

Honda’s standard maintenance coverage adds a little extra peace of mind for ownership planning. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the truck’s condition and prior use match your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Ridgeline?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, cargo-bed wear, and signs of hard use. Since this truck is often chosen for daily driving and utility, condition matters as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport trim is the only one with cloth seats, and it is the most basic version in the lineup. Higher trims add more comfort and convenience, while the HPD Package can be added to any version for a more aggressive look.
• Powertrain: Every Ridgeline uses a 280-horsepower V6 with a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. It is tuned for smooth, refined driving rather than rock-crawling capability.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and lane-centering assistance. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning is standard on all but the Sport, and automatic high-beam headlights are reserved for the top trims.
• Infotainment: Every Ridgeline gets an 8-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, text messaging, HondaLink connected services, and USB charging ports. Higher trims add SiriusXM, HD Radio, navigation, voice recognition, traffic information, a premium sound system, and wireless smartphone charging.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2021 Honda Ridgeline trim should I buy?

The 2021 Honda Ridgeline is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, RTL, RTL-E, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it still gives you the core Ridgeline formula: the V6, standard all-wheel drive, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Honda Sensing. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it misses some of the convenience and comfort upgrades found higher up.
• RTL: This is the trim to focus on if you want the best balance of equipment and value. It builds on the Sport with more comfort and convenience, and it avoids the stripped-down feel of the base truck.
• RTL-E: This is the better pick if you want more technology and premium features, including the added infotainment and convenience upgrades that make daily use easier.
• Black Edition: This is the most upscale version, aimed at buyers who want the most distinctive appearance and the fullest feature set.

Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning is standard on all but the Sport, and automatic high-beam headlights are included on the top trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda Ridgeline?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 829 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 77.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,136, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?

The current average of $27,161 sits slightly below last year's $28,617.

That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make the truck easier to shop now than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that also means you should pay close attention to purchase price and condition, because both will shape how much value you can recover later.

The Ridgeline’s strong utility, comfort, and owner satisfaction help support demand, especially among shoppers who want a truck that drives more like a refined daily vehicle. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline safe?

The 2021 Ridgeline has not yet been retested after its redesign, so the available data does not include new crash-test results for this model year.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and lane-centering assistance. The truck also includes a multi-angle reversing camera, while blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning is standard on all but the Sport, and automatic high-beam headlights are reserved for the top trims.

One caution from the expert drive is that the adaptive cruise control can react too aggressively in some traffic situations, so you should not assume the driver-assistance systems are fail-safe.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a freshened truck-like design and keeps the Ridgeline’s polished daily-driving character.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $25,538, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $27,161 average.
• It emphasizes comfort and relaxed everyday driving.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $29,221, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $27,161 average.
• It carries over the same refined formula with essentially no major changes.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the Ridgeline’s updated look and you value its comfort-first truck personality, the 2021 is the smart target. If price matters most, the 2020 can save you money while keeping the same basic appeal.
