Why it stands out
The 2021 Honda Ridgeline makes a significant impression in the midsize pickup segment, blending truck functionality with everyday passenger comfort. Its recent design overhaul gives it a more aggressive truck-like exterior, which might appeal to buyers seeking a conventional pickup aesthetic. The Ridgeline is equipped with a robust 280-horsepower V6 engine paired with an all-wheel-drive system, contributing to its agile performance on various terrains, although it’s more suited for flat roads rather than rugged off-roading.
While the truck may not excel in maximum towing capacity—up to 5,000 pounds—it compensates with an impressive payload capacity of 1,583 pounds and a highly functional, innovative cargo bed. The dual-action tailgate and a weatherproof trunk enhance usability, making it a reliable choice for both work and recreation. Interior comfort is a notable highlight, featuring spacious seating and user-friendly technology like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Despite some critiques regarding missing advanced safety features, the standard Honda Sensing suite provides essential driving aids, enhancing overall safety on the road.

The ridgeline drives amazing as I expected, didn’t disappoint for a truck at all unlike the Tocoma which is way overrated and overpriced price.

This is a great design for someone who needs a truck but not a 1/2 ton pickup. I am very happy with the way it drives and the technology that is included. I haven’t towed anything with it yet but I am confident that it will do what I need. I bought the RTL model because it had leather interior and a Sirius radio. II guess the most direct comparison will be the Hyundai Santa Cruz or the Ford Marverick. However it is more capable in many woes over those two models.

2021 Ridgeline RTL-E - Loaded with great features and very comfortable to drive. Great visibility. Lots of cargo space. Drives like a big car. Great for winter driving with AWD. This is my second Ridgeline. Drove a 2013 for 10 years. Loved it. Loving this one too. Perfect for someone who wants a truck but doesnt need the size of something like a F250.
