Yes — the 2021 Honda Passport earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, and cargo space, and they also call out smooth handling and strong audio quality. What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Passport?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any Passport you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you want to check for wear items, interior condition, and signs of hard use. Focus on whether the vehicle’s comfort features, cabin materials, and cargo area match the seller’s description.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport includes 20-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights, push-button start, tri-zone climate control, a seven-speaker audio system, and a one-touch fold-down rear bench. The EX-L adds leather upholstery, a power moonroof, a power rear liftgate, walk-away auto-locking, side mirrors that tilt down in reverse, one-touch power windows, and power-adjustable front seats. The Touring adds front-and-rear parking sensors, a hands-free liftgate, a 115-volt outlet, an upgraded 10-speaker stereo, satellite-linked navigation, and a WiFi hotspot. The Elite adds heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and wireless device charging.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. You get standard front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive, and the V6 is described as strong while the transmission manages power well.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control that can stop and go with traffic. Available features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front-and-rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: The Passport uses an 8-inch touchscreen, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard. Honda also includes wireless device charging on the Elite, while the Touring adds satellite-linked navigation and a WiFi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model returns 20 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined. With all-wheel drive, it returns 19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Honda Passport trim should I buy?

The 2021 Honda Passport is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Elite.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the value play if you want the Passport’s core strengths without paying for extras. You still get the V6, standard smartphone integration, an 8-inch touchscreen, and a solid safety baseline, so it covers the essentials well.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds leather upholstery, a power moonroof, a power liftgate, and more convenience features without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• Touring: Choose this if you want more tech and convenience, including navigation, a WiFi hotspot, parking sensors, and a stronger stereo.
• Elite: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, and wireless charging.

Safety equipment is strong across the lineup, with standard driver-assistance features and additional available aids on higher trims.

What is the 2021 Honda Passport's resale value?

The current average of $24,046 sits slightly below last year's $25,439.

That decline suggests the Passport has become a bit more affordable for buyers, which can help keep demand steady in the used market. If you buy at the right price, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The year’s pricing also suggests that well-kept examples should remain attractive to shoppers looking for a practical two-row SUV with a strong reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Honda Passport safe?

The Passport earns five-star ratings from NHTSA and top Good scores in most IIHS crash tests, with an Acceptable rating in the passenger-side small overlap front crash test.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control that can stop and go with traffic. Available driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front-and-rear parking sensors.

The main caveat is that IIHS gave it only an Acceptable result for the passenger-side small overlap front crash test, along with Acceptable ratings for headlights and child-seat anchor ease of use.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda Passport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers a familiar, lightly updated package with standard smartphone integration and a comfortable, adventure-leaning character.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $22,174, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $24,046 average.
• It emphasizes rugged style, comfort, and off-road capability.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $29,110, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $24,046 average.
• It adds a light restyle, a new TrailSport trim, and revised safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, features, and proven ownership appeal, the 2021 is the smart default. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2020 can save you money while keeping much of the same core appeal.
