With 50 currently listed for sale near Phoenix, AZ and an average price of $21,783.00, 32.0% of 2021 Honda Odysseys for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Honda Odyssey 4.8 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2021 Honda Odyssey stands out as a family-focused minivan that blends improved safety, upgraded technology, enhanced utility, and spruced-up styling. It is presented as a freshened model that is ready to defend its turf against revitalized competitors, and that positioning fits its appeal: it aims to make daily life easier by reducing friction when carrying passengers, cargo, or both. For buyers who want a practical vehicle that still feels thoughtfully updated, that combination is a major part of its draw.
Space is one of the Odyssey’s clearest strengths. It is described as spacious, with a spacious third row, which supports its role as a people mover for families. The styling is also a plus, giving the minivan a more polished presence than the stereotype suggests. Owners echo that family-friendly mission, praising its space and safety features as well as its helpful features for families and good drivability.
There are tradeoffs, though. The 2021 Honda Odyssey is not available as a hybrid, all-wheel drive is not available, and it is not as luxurious as its competitors. Even so, its mix of roominess, usability, and updated presentation makes it a compelling choice for shoppers who value everyday convenience over flashier hardware.

Car is great. Handles well and has space. Great family car. Steering wheel could use a motorized function for adjusting height and distance. Power 3rd row seats could be cool as well.

This is my 3rd Honda Odyssey, so the car works well for me. I’d still like to see a modification to fold the seats into the floor (like the Chrysler Pacifica) now that Chrysler/Dodge’s patent on that design has expired. At least the 2nd row seats come completely out - they are just really heavy and awkward to move. I miss the compartment under the center dashboard - it was nice storage. I also miss the blind spot camera that I had in my 2014 that gave you a view for lane changing.

| Year-Round High | $28,639.68 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $28,633 |

Prices have softened 5.89% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
With 1,220 listings available, you have a solid amount of inventory to compare across trims and conditions.
If you find a listing below $26,333.07, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2021 Honda Odyssey a good car?
Yes — the 2021 Honda Odyssey earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.
Owners consistently praise its space, safety features, and family-friendly usefulness, and they also call out its good drivability. The overview points to the same strengths: it is aimed at making daily life easier when you are carrying passengers, cargo, or both. The main trade-offs are that it is not as luxurious as some rivals and it does not offer all-wheel drive or a hybrid setup. Even so, the market still shows 32.0% good or great deals, which suggests there is room to shop carefully.
Is the 2021 Honda Odyssey reliable?
Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner summary emphasizes that the Odyssey is a dependable family vehicle, with praise centered on its space, safety, and helpful features for families. It also points to a vehicle you can count on for everyday use, especially if you value practicality and easy ownership. On the expert side, the drivetrain is described as smooth and effortless, and the fuel-saving cylinder-management system helps it conserve fuel under certain conditions. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright capability and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for well over time.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Odyssey?
At 67.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the van has seen heavy family use. Focus on signs of wear in the cabin, seat mechanisms, and other high-touch areas, since this model is built to haul people and cargo regularly. It is also worth checking that the safety and infotainment features work as expected, because those systems are a big part of the Odyssey’s appeal.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: Base LX trim gets standard LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation and Honda Sensing, but blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning still requires at least EX trim.
- Powertrain: The 3.5-liter V6 and ten-speed automatic deliver 280 horsepower, use front-wheel drive, and include Normal, Sport, Econ, and Snow modes plus variable cylinder management for better fuel use.
- Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on LX and adds low-speed follow capability, pedestrian braking, road-sign recognition, and a dashboard menu button for quick access to ADAS settings. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning is not standard on base trim.
- Infotainment: Starting with EX trim, you get an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, HD Radio, text-messaging support, basic HondaLink connectivity, and the Cabin Control smartphone app. Touring adds navigation, WiFi capability, CabinWatch, and CabinTalk, while Elite adds an 11-speaker premium sound system, multi-zone listening, and wireless smartphone charging.
- Fuel efficiency: The EPA says it should return 22 mpg in combined driving, and testing averaged 21.8 mpg.
Which 2021 Honda Odyssey trim should I buy?
The 2021 Honda Odyssey is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: LX is the value entry point, but you give up blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, which does not arrive until EX trim.
- Sweet-spot trim: EX-L is the most balanced choice if you want a step up in comfort and convenience without jumping to the pricier Touring and Elite models.
- Premium/top trim: Elite adds the most upscale feel, including perforated leather upholstery with contrast stitching and piping, ambient lighting, and the richest audio and charging setup.
- Off-road trim: None of the trims are aimed at off-road use, and the front-wheel-drive setup is better suited to everyday family duty than rough-weather confidence.
Honda Sensing is standard on LX, but the blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning system still requires EX trim or higher.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda Odyssey?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.
- Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,220 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.89% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 67.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $26,333.07, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Honda Odyssey's resale value?
The current average of $26,948 sits slightly below last year's $28,633.
That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the van holds buyer interest. A model that is already down from last year’s average may not have as much short-term price cushion if market conditions stay soft. On the other hand, strong family appeal and broad usefulness can help support demand when you eventually sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2021 Honda Odyssey safe?
It earns Top Safety Pick recognition from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and five-star ratings in every National Highway Traffic Safety Administration test aside from rollover resistance, where it earns a four-star score.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Honda Sensing is standard on base LX trim and includes low-speed follow capability for adaptive cruise control, pedestrian braking, road-sign recognition, and a dashboard menu button for quick access to ADAS settings. The system is broad and useful, but blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning still requires EX trim or higher. The expert review also notes that the adaptive cruise control can brake a bit unevenly and that the lane-departure warning can feel abrupt.
Should I buy a 2021 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 67.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Prices have softened 5.89% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2021 model brings freshened styling, standard LED headlights, and expanded Honda Sensing capability.
Consider the 2022 if:
- At $29,940, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $26,948 average.
- It keeps the same familiar formula while leaning into the Odyssey’s enjoyable driving character.
The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2021 is the smarter starting point because pricing has eased and the model still brings strong family appeal, safety, and usability. If you are willing to pay more for a newer year and prefer to stay close to the Odyssey’s core formula, the 2022 is the cleaner alternative for price-insensitive shoppers.
