Is the 2020 Honda Odyssey a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. For you, that makes this a strong fit if you want a family minivan that emphasizes everyday practicality and convenience. Is the 2020 Honda Odyssey reliable?

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centered on comfort and usability over time. That kind of response suggests the Odyssey can be a sensible choice if you want a used minivan you can count on for family duty. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying close attention to maintenance history and overall condition before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda Odyssey?

At 60.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, interior wear, and any signs of uneven repair quality. Because this is a family vehicle, focus on how well the cabin, sliding-seat setup, and everyday-use features have held up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda Odyssey?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,094 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.70% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,331, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Honda Odyssey's resale value?

The current average of $23,331 sits slightly below last year's $25,555.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale value may depend heavily on how well you preserve the vehicle. If you keep mileage reasonable, maintain service records, and avoid accident history, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell. Strong condition matters even more in a market where shoppers have plenty of listings to compare.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $25,863, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $23,331 average.
• It adds improved safety, upgraded technology, and spruced-up styling.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2020 if you want the better value and a strong mix of family-friendly practicality and owner satisfaction. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2020 is the smarter path; if you want the newer model’s added polish and can stretch your budget, the 2021 is worth a look.
