Used 2022 Kia Carnival for Sale nearPhoenix, AZ

How much does the 2022 Kia Carnival cost?

Prices have softened 13.00% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 677 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable selection to compare.

Is the 2022 Kia Carnival a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia Carnival earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the spaciousness, innovative technology, and comfort, and they also like the unique features that help it stand apart from other vehicles in its class. In practical terms, that lines up well with the Carnival’s family-focused use case: you get a people mover that aims for a more upscale feel than a typical minivan.

The main trade-offs are limited cargo space and a transmission that can be irritating in Smart mode. Even so, the market still shows 36.0% good or great deals, which points to solid availability for shoppers who want value.

Is the 2022 Kia Carnival reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on spaciousness, innovative technology, comfort, and features that owners enjoy living with over time. The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by describing the Carnival as a cost-effective solution for people-hauling and cargo-carrying needs, backed by Kia’s outstanding warranty and roadside assistance coverage.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the vehicle’s packaging and driving behavior fit your needs over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Carnival?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still prioritize a history report and a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple trims or higher-mileage examples. Focus on condition details that matter in a family hauler: interior wear, seat condition, and whether the technology and driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: LX trim is the most basic version, with cloth seats, an 8-inch touchscreen, and a simpler interior presentation, while EX adds a larger 12.3-inch widescreen display, navigation, wireless charging, and more upscale cabin touches. SX and SX Prestige bring the most premium equipment, including rear entertainment on SX and VIP Lounge Seats on SX Prestige.
• Powertrain: Every Carnival uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower, front-wheel drive, and an eight-speed automatic. There is no all-wheel-drive or electrified option, and the transmission can hesitate in Smart mode.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot and rear cross-traffic warning with collision avoidance, lane-departure, lane-keeping, and lane-centering assistance, rear parking sensors, a driver monitoring system, a reversing camera with dynamic parking guidance lines, ultrasonic rear occupant alert, and Safe Exit Assist. EX adds front parking sensors, cyclist detection, navigation-based adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, and Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: LX gets an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. EX upgrades to a 12.3-inch widescreen system, but CarPlay and Android Auto become wired. SX adds rear entertainment, and SX Prestige adds a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says the Carnival should get 22 mpg in combined driving, and testing returned 21.7 mpg on a mixed loop.

Which 2022 Kia Carnival trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Carnival is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, EX, SX, and SX Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the Carnival’s core strengths at the lowest entry point. You still get wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, plus the roomy, upscale-feeling cabin that makes the model stand out.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 12.3-inch widescreen infotainment system, navigation, wireless charging, and more advanced driver-assistance features. It also brings a more polished interior with simulated leather and additional convenience features.
• SX: Choose this if you want the rear-seat entertainment system and the more advanced surround-view camera setup. It’s the trim that starts to feel especially well equipped for family duty.
• SX Prestige: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with real leather, VIP Lounge Seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, and the most premium cabin presentation.

Safe Exit Assist is standard across the lineup, and EX and higher add more advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Carnival?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 677 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.00% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,680, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Carnival's resale value?

The current average of $23,685 sits slightly below last year's $27,223.

That price movement suggests the Carnival has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stays steady. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside left than a shopper who paid closer to the original new-car pricing.

Strong demand for roomy, well-equipped family vehicles can also help support resale value, especially when the vehicle has a good reputation with owners. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Carnival or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The all-new 2022 model brings crossover-inspired styling, strong value, and wireless smartphone integration.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,703, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $23,685 average.
• It keeps the stylish minivan-with-SUV-flavor formula while adding a more upscale, family-friendly presentation.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the smarter starting point because it has softened in price and still offers strong owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year, the 2023 is the cleaner alternative for shoppers who want the latest version of the same formula.
