2021 Ford EcoSport

The EcoSport (pronounced ECHO-sport) is Ford’s smallest SUV and competes in the highly-competitive subcompact SUV segment. Introduced for the 2018 model year, Ford has kept the EcoSport relevant in this class of vehicles by updating the exterior styling for 2021.
Available trims for the EcoSport include S, SE, SES, and Titanium. The entry-level S trim comes with cloth upholstery, a manually-adjustable driver’s seat, and remote keyless entry. Other standard features include a WiFi hotspot, a pair of USB ports, and SYNC infotainment with a 4.2-inch display audio screen.
Moving up to the SE swaps out the 4.2-inch screen for an 8-inch touchscreen. It features the SYNC 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SE adds fog lights, a moonroof, rear parking sensors, and remote keyless entry. It also includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, push-button start, heated front seats, and satellite radio.
The SES is based around the SE trim, but with performance upgrades including a more powerful engine and a sport-tuned suspension. The SES also adds a heated steering wheel, navigation, and a seven-speaker stereo system. The range-topping Titanium provides creature comforts such as leather upholstery, a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system. No matter the trim selected, the EcoSport has 20.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind 60/40 split-fold rear seats. With the rear seats folded, the EcoSport provides 50 cubic feet of cargo space.
The base engine in the EcoSport is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost powerplant. Standard on the S, SE, and Titanium, it makes 123 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque. The SES comes with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine making 166 hp and 149 lb-ft of torque. This upgraded engine is optional on the S, SE, and Titanium trims. With the 1.0-liter engine, power is routed to the front wheels, while the 2.0-liter engine is paired exclusively to all-wheel drive (AWD). The 1.0-liter engine returns an EPA-estimated 27 mpg city, 29 highway, 28 combined. The 2.0-liter engine with all-wheel drive returns 23 mpg city, 29 highway, 25 combined.
The EcoSport comes standard with a backup camera, traction control, and a full complement of front- and side-impact airbags. Available safety features include rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Base MSRP for the 2021 Ford EcoSport is $19,995 for the S trim. The SE starts at $23,450, while the Titanium starts at $26,265. The SES has a starting price of $27,275. A destination fee of $1,245 is added to all prices.
