Used 2021 Dodge Challenger for Sale nearOklahoma City, OK

How much does the 2021 Dodge Challenger cost?

Prices have softened 3.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,428 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Dodge Challenger a good car?

Yes — 4.88/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the expert rating is 7.00/10. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise the Challenger for its power, comfort, unique styling, impressive technology, and strong driving experience. The model also stands out for its incredible performance value, multiple powertrain options, and plenty of cargo space.

The trade-offs are clear: handling is outclassed by the competition, the back seat is cramped, and advanced safety features are not standard. In practical terms, this is a car that fits you best if you want muscle-car personality and straight-line speed more than everyday versatility.

Only 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market has some attractive opportunities but not a flood of them.

Is the 2021 Dodge Challenger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that feels dependable, with owners highlighting power, comfort, and a driving experience they enjoy enough to keep recommending. The expert review also describes the Challenger as offering reliable power and backing it with a full warranty.

That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition, because long-term ownership risk rises when a performance car has been driven hard or poorly cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Dodge Challenger?

At 69.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you get serious about any listing, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if the car has been modified, tracked, or shows uneven wear. Focus on body condition, tire wear, brake condition, and signs that the car may have been driven aggressively or in poor weather.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SXT is described as decent but not especially impressive, while upper trims add softer Nappa leather seats, contrast stitching, faux-suede headliners, carbon fiber on the dash, and thicker steering wheels with metal shift paddles.
• Powertrain: The 3.6-liter V6 in the SXT and GT is quiet and efficient but not fun, while the R/T brings a 375-hp 5.7-liter V8, the R/T Scat Pack steps up to a 6.4-liter V8 with 485 hp, and Hellcat models use a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with much higher output.
• Safety package: The available driver-assistance content includes blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and optional forward emergency braking, but advanced safety features are not standard and the base car lacks driver assists.
• Infotainment: The standard system uses a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; the 8.4-inch screen is the one you should look for, and the system can show performance data through Performance Pages.
• Fuel efficiency: The performance section notes fuel economy can reach 30 mpg or 20 mpg, depending on configuration, while Hellcat models can drop below 10 mpg.

Which 2021 Dodge Challenger trim should I buy?

The 2021 Dodge Challenger is offered in 3 trim levels: SXT, GT, and R/T.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Challenger look and the lowest starting price, but the V6 is described as quiet and efficient rather than fun. It is the trim to skip if you want the car’s core personality.
• GT: The GT keeps the V6 formula but adds the option of all-wheel drive, which may appeal if you want extra traction without moving up to a V8. It still shares the same basic powertrain limitations as the SXT.
• R/T: This is the best-value trim to buy because it brings the 375-hp V8, a six-speed manual transmission, an active exhaust, and an upgraded suspension. If you want the Challenger to feel like a real muscle car, this is the trim that best matches the car’s strengths.

The safety content notes that advanced safety features are not standard, and the available driver-assistance list is limited.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Dodge Challenger?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with some room to shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,428 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.85% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,175, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Dodge Challenger's resale value?

The current average of $31,492 sits slightly below last year's $32,752.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the car in strong condition, because performance cars tend to reward clean history and careful ownership.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Dodge Challenger safe?

The Challenger earns a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but the government's tests mask the weaknesses of this old body structure.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The available driver-assistance suite is limited to blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and optional forward emergency braking. The safety testing also shows important caveats: the IIHS rated the body structure as poor, with marginal performance in the driver small-overlap front test and only basic performance for the optional forward emergency braking feature.

Should I buy a 2021 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 stands out as a serious, high-tech dragster with broad powertrain variety and strong performance value.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $28,893, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $31,492 average.
• It blends retro styling with modern technology and heart-pounding performance.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current-year pricing, inventory, and enthusiast appeal, the 2021 is the better target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2020 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in clean condition with the features you want.
