CarGurus Analysis: 2021 Chevrolet Blazer
overall

Summary
With 177 currently listed for sale near Atlanta, GA and an average price of $19,711, 19.8% of 2021 Chevrolet Blazers for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer 4.88 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.5 / 10.
83.1% of 2021 Blazer models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2021 Chevrolet Blazer stands out by putting exterior design and performance ahead of everything else. It has a sporty, Camaro-inspired personality that makes it feel more style-driven than many crossovers, and its handling is one of its biggest strengths. The technology is also easy to use, which helps the Blazer feel approachable even when its mission is clearly more about flair and driving enjoyment than maximum practicality.
That emphasis on style comes with tradeoffs. The interior materials feel cheap, the transmission is irritating, and the Blazer is considered poor value for money. It is also described as a rarer sight on the road, in part because it sits between two other Chevrolet crossovers that are positioned differently, with one offering lower pricing and similar cargo space and the other adding a third row and the same powertrain. For buyers who want a crossover with a distinctive look and engaging road manners, the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer has a clear appeal, but it asks a premium for those qualities.

I love this vehicle! Plenty of leg room, comfortable seating and responsive. I love the 308 hp V6. I had gotten away from Chevrolet for sometime. The value and dependability of their vehicles dropped considerably . The Blazer is the redeeming vehicle for me. The options on my Blazer are great for me and may not be suitable for other customers but at least there are plenty to choose from. If Great value for the money.

I really like the look of the Blazer, very sporty looking. I test drove the RS with the 3.6L V6 engine and it was very responsive and appeared to have plenty of power. Interior is only available in black and seemed plain, even with the red accents that come with the RS package. I did like the dash configuration and gauge cluster, reminded me of the Camaro. Over all I liked it, but compared to equally equipped Jeep Grand Cherokee or Ford Edge it is overpriced. Pricing seems to be the same as the Traverse which is a larger SUV.

How much does the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $21,347 |
| Year-Round Low | $21,347 |
| Year-Round High | $23,644 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $23,638 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −9.69% |
Prices have softened 9.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 2,185 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer a good car?
Yes — the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer earns a 4.88/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.
Drivers consistently praise the sporty look, responsive power, and driving enjoyment, and they also highlight the feature set as a major plus. The Blazer’s style-driven personality and easy-to-use tech make it appealing if you want a crossover that feels more engaging than practical.
The trade-offs are clear: the interior materials feel cheap, the transmission is irritating, and value for money is weak. That fits a vehicle aimed more at style and road manners than maximum utility, so it makes the most sense if you care more about personality than bargain pricing. Good and great deals account for 32.1% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer reliable?
Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers often describing the Blazer as something they can count on over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Blazer’s driving character is cohesive and confidence-inspiring, which supports the sense that it’s built to be lived with day to day.
If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether you’ll be satisfied with the cabin quality and overall value after the novelty wears off.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chevrolet Blazer?
At 73.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, tire wear, and signs of prior repair work so you can separate a clean example from one that has been cosmetically refreshed after damage.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base L and 1LT are the least appealing choices because they miss the stronger engine and feel more stripped down, while the RS stands out for its sportier hardware and more distinctive appearance.
- Powertrain: The lineup includes a 2.5-liter inline-four, a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder, and a 3.6-liter V6, all paired with a nine-speed automatic. The base engine is underpowered and noisy, while the V6 is the strongest choice.
- Safety package: Driver assists include forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, and automatic high beams. These features are standard on most trims except the L and 1LT, and the enhanced emergency braking setup is reserved for top trims with the Driver Confidence II package.
- Infotainment: Every Blazer gets an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A Plus version adds navigation with traffic, 4G WiFi, onboard apps, better voice recognition, and two-phone pairing.
- Fuel efficiency: The AWD V6 returns 19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined, while the AWD turbo inline-four is rated at 22 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined.
Which 2021 Chevrolet Blazer trim should I buy?
The 2021 Chevrolet Blazer is offered in 5 trim levels: L, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, RS.
Here's the short version:
- L: This is the cheapest way into the Blazer, but it pairs the model with the weakest engine and the fewest desirable features, so it makes sense only if price matters above all else.
- 1LT: This trim still leaves you with the base powertrain, so it’s not the one to choose if you want the Blazer’s sporty character to come through.
- 2LT: This is the best-value starting point because it moves you to the 2.0-liter turbo engine and a more convincing overall setup without jumping all the way to the pricier trims.
- 3LT: Choose this if you want the stronger turbo powertrain with more room to add options and you’re willing to pay more for a better-equipped Blazer.
- RS: This is the enthusiast pick, with the 3.6-liter V6, sport-tuned suspension, brakes, and steering, plus the most performance-focused feel in the lineup.
For safety equipment, most trims get the core driver-assistance features, but the enhanced emergency braking setup is limited to top trims with the Driver Confidence II package.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Blazer?
The market looks moderate and selective buyers should have some room to shop carefully.
- Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,185 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.69% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 73.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $21,347, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer's resale value?
The current average of $21,347 sits slightly below last year's $23,638.
That decline suggests the Blazer has become more affordable in the used market, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, though, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim appeal rather than on broad market momentum alone.
Because the Blazer is still a style-first SUV with a loyal audience, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Strong equipment, cleaner history, and the more desirable trims should help protect value better than a bare-bones version.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer safe?
The 2021 Blazer earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall and in all three crash tests, with four-star ratings for the front passenger in the frontal crash and for rollover. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave it top Good ratings in all crash tests, but Marginal and Poor ratings for headlights.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Driver-assistance features include forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, and automatic high beams on most trims. The enhanced forward emergency braking system adds radar support, but it’s limited to top trims with the Driver Confidence II package. A driver’s knee airbag is standard, while rear emergency braking is not offered.
Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Blazer or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 73.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.69% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2021 stands out for its easy-to-use tech and strong handling.
Consider the 2022 if:
- At $24,040, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $21,347 average.
- It adds more cargo space and remains focused on pavement use.
The bottom line: If you want the better buy today, the 2021 is the stronger path because pricing has eased and the model still delivers the Blazer’s best traits: style, handling, and approachable tech. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer example, the 2022 is the secondary path, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2021 and shop carefully for a clean, well-equipped trim.
