Used 2021 Buick Enclave for Sale near Illinois

How much does the 2021 Buick Enclave cost?

Prices have softened 14.56% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,194 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Buick Enclave a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Buick Enclave earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

The Enclave is Buick’s largest crossover SUV, and it leans into comfort, spaciousness, and a quiet, upscale feel. It is especially appealing if you want a roomy three-row SUV with strong road manners and easy-to-use technology.

The trade-offs are clear: the interior materials feel cheap, and the technology is dated relative to the segment. It also comes across as poor value for money, especially when you compare it with similarly sized alternatives.

The market shows 33.7% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Buick Enclave reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Enclave’s overall package points to solid everyday dependability: it is roomy, quiet, and built around a simple 3.6-liter V6 and nine-speed automatic. The powertrain is described as strong, with low-end torque that helps the SUV feel responsive in normal driving.

Its ride quality is another plus, especially when equipped with the premium-tuned suspension mentioned in the expert review. Buick also notes that the SUV’s technology is straightforward and easy to use, which can help reduce ownership friction over time.

If you buy used, the biggest long-term risk is paying too much for a vehicle that still has some feature limitations and value concerns.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Buick Enclave?

At 72.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with a lower asking price. Focus on overall condition, feature operation, and evidence of consistent maintenance.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Preferred is the entry point, while Essence adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Premium and Avenir bring the Driver Confidence Plus Package, which adds forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, low-speed automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and a Safety Alert Seat.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a 3.6-liter V6 with a nine-speed automatic transmission and either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The engine makes 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, and the SUV can tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.
• Safety package: The Driver Confidence Plus Package is standard on Premium and Avenir, but not on lower trims. Adaptive cruise control with enhanced automatic emergency braking that works at highway speeds is reserved for Avenir and requires the optional Avenir Technology Package.
• Infotainment: The biggest screen available is an 8-inch touchscreen. Every Enclave includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L, a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, USB charging ports in all three rows, and Teen Driver. Wireless smartphone charging, navigation, a premium sound system, and a surround-view camera system are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates the Enclave at 21 mpg in combined driving, and the review notes 21.2 mpg on a testing loop.

Which 2021 Buick Enclave trim should I buy?

The 2021 Buick Enclave is offered in 4 trim levels: Preferred, Essence, Premium, and Avenir.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the starting point, but it leaves out some important safety equipment that you may want on a family SUV. It makes sense only if you are focused on the lowest entry price.
• Essence: This is the first trim that adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, so it is the better value if you want a more complete safety setup without jumping too far up the range.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the Driver Confidence Plus Package, bringing forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, parking sensors, and the Safety Alert Seat.
• Avenir: This is the most upscale choice, with the strongest visual presence and the most premium-feeling cabin details. It is the right pick if you want the Enclave at its most luxurious, but it asks you to pay extra for some advanced safety tech.

The safety-package gap is important: the most advanced driver-assistance features are not spread evenly across the lineup, so trim choice matters a lot here.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Buick Enclave?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,194 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.56% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,291, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Buick Enclave's resale value?

The current average of $22,291 sits slightly below last year's $26,089.

That drop suggests the Enclave has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future buyers but may limit near-term resale upside for current owners. If you buy at the right price, you may reduce the amount of value left to lose.

The model’s strong comfort and spaciousness should help it stay appealing to family buyers, but its value and technology drawbacks may keep resale demand from rising too far. For a future seller, condition and trim level will matter a lot.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Buick Enclave safe?

The 2021 Buick Enclave earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though frontal-impact protection rates four-star due to a four-star front passenger rating. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety applies high marks across the board, but a Marginal headlight performance rating prevents the SUV from earning a Top Safety Pick accolade.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Buick’s safety tech is solid in execution but limited in availability. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert require an upgrade to Essence, while the Driver Confidence Plus Package is standard only on Premium and Avenir. That package includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, low-speed automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and a Safety Alert Seat.

If you want adaptive cruise control with enhanced automatic emergency braking that works at highway speeds, you need the Avenir trim and the optional Avenir Technology Package. The lack of lane-centering, rear automatic braking, self-parking, and hands-free driving tech leaves the Enclave behind some rivals.

Should I buy a 2021 Buick Enclave or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 Enclave is roomy, quiet, and powerful, but still feels dated in key areas.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $25,915, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $22,291 average.
• It adds a freshened design and standard driver-assistance technology.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2021 is the more attractive buy because prices have softened and inventory is healthy. If you are willing to spend more for a fresher look and more standard safety tech, the 2022 is the better long-term choice.
