Used 2021 BMW M3 for Sale near Texas

How much does the 2021 BMW M3 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 108 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 BMW M3 a good car?

It is a strong choice if you want a luxury performance sedan that can be calm in daily driving and ferocious when you push it, though it asks you to accept some real compromises. It earns a 3.7/5 user rating and a 6.7/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

The M3’s appeal comes from its dual personality: it is designed to be docile when you need it to be, yet ready to deliver serious performance when the road opens up. The manual transmission being available and the fun-to-drive character make it especially appealing if you want a performance sedan with real driver involvement.

The trade-offs are clear: poor ride quality and limited cargo space make it less relaxed and less practical than many shoppers may want, and the fuel economy is also poor.

With 31.5% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 BMW M3 reliable?

The 2021 BMW M3 is built around a high-output performance setup, and the expert review emphasizes that it is engineered for serious driving rather than easygoing ownership. Its performance focus is reinforced by the twin-turbocharged inline six, rear-wheel-drive layout, and track-ready hardware.

The performance content also notes that the car is designed to maximize engine, oil, turbocharger, and brake cooling, which supports hard use. The cost-effectiveness commentary adds that BMW includes a first scheduled maintenance visit on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a car this capable can be expensive to keep in top shape if it has been driven hard or maintained inconsistently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 BMW M3?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a performance sedan like this can attract hard use even when it looks clean on paper. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on wear items, signs of aggressive driving, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim you are considering. Pay close attention to ride quality, tire condition, brake wear, and any evidence of modifications or track use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base car emphasizes the manual transmission and driver involvement, while the Competition version adds more power and an automatic transmission. The base car is the better fit if you want the most engaging setup, while the Competition suits you if you want maximum straight-line pace and are fine giving up the manual.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six with 473 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission. The Competition version raises output to 503 hp and uses an eight-speed automatic, with rear-wheel drive in both cases.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, drowsy driver monitoring, post-crash braking, and BMW Assist eCall with an SOS button and automatic collision notification. The Driving Assistance Professional Package is only available on the Competition model.
• Infotainment: BMW’s iDrive 7.0 system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the display is easy to see and use. The system also supports voice recognition, gesture controls, and an available head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The base M3 is described as returning 19 mpg in combined driving, and the review says fuel economy is poor.

Which 2021 BMW M3 trim should I buy?

The 2021 BMW M3 is offered in 2 trim levels: M3 and M3 Competition.

Here's the short version:

• M3: This is the one to choose if you want the most involving setup, because it pairs the 473-horsepower twin-turbo inline six with a six-speed manual transmission. It is the better pick for enthusiasts who value driver engagement over outright convenience.
• M3 Competition: This is the better-value choice if you want more power and are happy with an automatic. It adds 30 more horsepower, quicker acceleration, and the automatic transmission, making it the easier recommendation if you want the fastest version and do not need a clutch pedal.

The Driving Assistance Professional Package is only available on the Competition model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 BMW M3?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you should shop with a clear target and be ready to move when you find the right car.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 108 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 79.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $67,240, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 BMW M3's resale value?

The current average of $69,272 sits slightly above last year's $68,838.

That small increase suggests the M3 has held its value fairly well. For you as a future seller, that points to a market that still rewards the car’s performance reputation and enthusiast appeal.

The price trend also suggests there is not much sign of a sharp drop in demand. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain the car well, you should be in a better position to protect resale value.

Is the 2021 BMW M3 safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW equips the M3 with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, drowsy driver monitoring, post-crash braking, and BMW Assist eCall with an SOS button and automatic collision notification. The Driving Assistance Professional Package adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, extended traffic jam assistance, lane-centering assistance, evasive steering assistance, and emergency stop assistance, but it is only available on the Competition model.

Should I buy a 2021 BMW M3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• The expert review highlights it as a true driver’s car with a manual transmission available and a dual personality that works for both daily driving and hard driving.

The bottom line: If you want the most engaging version of the M3 experience and value the manual-transmission option, the 2021 is the right path to focus on. If you are more price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully within this year’s market and look for a well-kept example near the low end of the range.
