I like everything about the car except the feature that kills the engine when stopped. I realize that this is not a problem in Sport Mode, but Sport Mode is a little too jumpy in this 540i. I run my 540d in Sport mode exclusively and it’s torque curve is perfect. The 540d has better power at all speeds.
Excellent Car, Real Rocket with 550 trim or M5 variants. Great for a long trip and if you are in a state that dont require the UGLY front license plate it shows how elegant the lines are. I LOVE mine.
Very nice interior and acceleration is a step up from the 535i.
The power, the luxury and comfort of it make it worth it. Its a classy vehicle with loads of power, underlying and subtle details let you know this isnt your typical 5 series, But you wouldnt know from seeing it on the move. Youd need to stop and pay attention to the fine details to recognize this isnt your normal 5 series.
