Used 2020 Toyota Tundra for Sale nearLaurel, MS

How much does the 2020 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 1.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,690 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 5.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

Drivers consistently praise its reliability, power, and spacious interior, and many describe it as sturdy and dependable for long-term ownership. The overview also points to its roomy cabin and strong durability as major reasons to consider it.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and a noisy driving experience. It also comes across as dated compared with newer rivals, which matters if you want a more modern cabin or smoother everyday refinement.

For shoppers who value long-term dependability and a roomy truck over polish, it fits that use case well. Good and great deals account for 31.5% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback repeatedly describes it as reliable, dependable, and built for long-term ownership. The expert summary goes even further, calling it “utterly bulletproof” in terms of reliability, and the performance notes describe the powertrain as a refined and durable workhorse.

Toyota also includes free scheduled maintenance for 2 years or 25,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about durability and more about living with its age, fuel use, and outdated feel.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Toyota Tundra?

At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important here because the truck’s crash-test results are a weak point, so you want to know exactly what condition the specific listing is in.

Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and whether the truck has been used hard. If you are comparing multiple listings, prioritize the cleanest example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from SR to 1794 Edition, and the higher trims add a fancier, plusher cabin. The base-level trucks are simpler, while the TRD Pro stands apart with a tougher, more technical appearance and a more specialized setup.
• Powertrain: Every 2020 Tundra uses a 5.7-liter V8 with a 6-speed automatic. It is described as a refined and durable workhorse, with strong horsepower and torque, but fuel economy is unimpressive.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense comes standard, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available. Every truck also includes Safety Connect services with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency calling.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get a 7-inch display, while pricier versions upgrade to an 8-inch screen. All versions include Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, satellite radio, USB ports, and connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA figures are 13 mpg city, 17 mpg highway, and 14 mpg combined for the 4WD version discussed in the test-drive data.

Which 2020 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2020 Toyota Tundra is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, TRD Pro, Platinum, and 1794 Edition.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the simplest entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Tundra’s core durability and capability without paying for extra luxury or specialty equipment.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more everyday usability while staying closer to the lower end of the lineup.
• Limited: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and more comfort-focused equipment without jumping all the way to the highest-priced trims.
• TRD Pro: This is the off-road-focused choice, with standard 4WD, off-road shocks, a skid plate, and a more aggressive appearance.
• Platinum: This suits you if you want a more premium cabin and a higher-end ownership experience.
• 1794 Edition: This is the most distinctive luxury-leaning trim, aimed at buyers who want the most upscale presentation in the lineup.

Toyota Safety Sense comes standard, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Toyota Tundra?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,690 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.86% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,085, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $36,687 sits slightly below last year's $37,383.

That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect value retention to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim.

The Tundra still has a reputation for durability, and that helps support demand over time. Well-kept examples should remain attractive to buyers who prioritize reliability and long-term ownership.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2020 Toyota Tundra earns Good ratings in IIHS tests that were more revealing under older standards, but it gets a Marginal rating for the driver, a Poor rating for the front passenger in small-overlap frontal testing, and Marginal headlights. It earns five-star ratings in side-impact protection, four-star ratings in frontal-impact protection, and four-star rollover resistance with 4WD; with RWD, rollover resistance drops to three-star.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense comes standard, and you can also get blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Every Tundra includes Safety Connect services with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency calling.

The main caveat is that crash-test performance is a real weakness, especially in small-overlap frontal testing. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to the specific trim and equipment, but the underlying crash results remain a concern.

Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 keeps the Tundra’s long-running, reliability-first formula while adding modern infotainment and standard Toyota Safety Sense.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $33,457, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $36,687 average.
• It keeps the same straightforward, proven pickup formula with a simpler, no-nonsense appeal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $38,331, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $36,687 average.
• It adds modern infotainment and safety tech to an older but still relevant truck design.

The bottom line: Choose the 2020 if you want the balance of reliability, modern convenience, and current-market availability. If price matters most, the 2019 is the better value path; if you want a slightly newer take with more updated presentation, the 2021 is worth a look.
