overall

Summary
With 80 currently listed for sale near Dallas, TX and an average price of $36,000.00, 18.8% of 2020 Toyota Siennas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2020 Toyota Sienna 4.71 / 5 stars.
100.0% of 2020 Sienna models on CarGurus are accident free.
The 2020 Toyota Sienna stands out with its spacious cargo area, advanced safety features, and the unique availability of all-wheel drive (AWD).
Why it stands out
The 2020 Toyota Sienna is a strong contender in the minivan segment, primarily due to its unmatched cargo space and versatility. With a generous 150 cubic feet of cargo capacity, it outshines competitors like the Chrysler Pacifica and Honda Odyssey. The Sienna is also the only minivan in its class to offer all-wheel drive, catering to families who need extra traction in various driving conditions. While it may not be the newest model on the market, its reliability and comfort have garnered high praise from owners, reflected in its impressive user rating of 4.71 / 5 stars. The Sienna is equipped with a robust suite of safety features, including lane-departure warning and forward-collision warning, ensuring peace of mind for families on the go. However, some users have noted concerns about the vehicle's ergonomic design and steering responsiveness, which can feel twitchy at higher speeds. Overall, the Sienna remains a practical choice for those prioritizing space and safety in a family vehicle.

This is my second Toyota Sienna XLE. Love the XLE model, it cruises smoothly on the highway and has the safety features we’re accustomed to. We wanted the 2020 as we didn’t want a hybrid which all 2021 models are, no choice in that. We do wish the backup camera had the yellow guide like my Highlander Limited model but overall we’re ecstatic. I look forward to driving this Sienna until the wheels fall off, literally!

Features OK. Pre-2021 Sienna holds more cargo than any other minivan made in the last 20 years. High priced, but will last 200,000 miles.

The Toyota Sienna is a comfortable, reliable van. If taken care of and I mean regular maintenance, this van will last a long time. I have owned a 2003, 2009, 2015 and now a 2020. I compared it to other vans and they are safe in addition to reliable.

The 2020 Sienna XLE has a nice base package included in the msrp. I think it drives better than an SUV and will get better gas mileage. And the cargo space is larger. Thumbs up on the Sienna

Prices have softened 7.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 999 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of options to compare.
If you find a listing below $26,574.96, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2020 Toyota Sienna a good car?
Yes — the 2020 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.71/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.
Drivers consistently praise its smooth driving experience, comfort, and spacious cargo area. Reliability and safety also come through as recurring strengths, and many owners value how well it fits family use. The main trade-offs are pricing and the lack of some automated features on lower-end models.
That lines up with the Sienna’s family-first mission: it gives you a lot of room for people and gear, plus the only all-wheel-drive option in its class. Even so, the dated design and twitchy steering are reminders that you’re choosing practicality over polish.
With 32.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s enough market activity to keep shopping selective.
Is the 2020 Toyota Sienna reliable?
Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Drivers’ feedback points to reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many saying they feel confident counting on it for family duty. The expert review also emphasizes the Sienna’s practical, durable character and its ability to serve as a long-term family hauler. Toyota’s first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps early ownership costs.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the powertrain and more about finding a well-kept example that hasn’t been neglected or heavily worn by family use.
What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Toyota Sienna?
At 69.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the van has seen heavy family use or higher mileage. Pay close attention to steering feel, interior wear, and the condition of convenience features that matter in daily use. Because this model is built around practicality, you want to make sure the cabin, cargo area, and safety equipment still work as intended.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base L comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, remote keyless entry, three-zone climate control, five USB ports, three 12-volt outlets, Bluetooth connectivity, a WiFi hot spot, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay. The LE adds dual power sliding doors, black roof rails, a rear bumper protector, easy-clean upholstery, manual second- and third-row sunshades, and an overhead driver console. The SE adds 19-inch alloy wheels, a mesh grille, fog lights, sport instrumentation, heated front seats, leather upholstery, and a power rear liftgate. The XLE adds leather-trimmed seating, heated front seats, an upgraded instrument panel with a color center display, woodgrain accents, and one-touch power up/down for all windows. The Limited adds leather front seats, leatherette second- and third-row seats, a heated and leather-trimmed steering wheel, a sliding-top center console tray, cargo-area storage, JBL premium audio, and navigation.
- Powertrain: All trims use a 3.5-liter V6 with 296 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque paired with an 8-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, and AWD is available on all trims except the base L. FWD returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, 21 combined, while AWD returns 18/24/20.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense P includes lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning and avoidance with pedestrian detection, dynamic cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is optional on lower trims and standard on XLE and Limited.
- Infotainment: The standard setup is a 7-inch touchscreen with Toyota’s infotainment software, Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, five USB ports, and a WiFi hotspot. The screen size does not increase on higher trims, but navigation and a JBL 10-speaker premium audio system are available.
- Fuel efficiency: The FWD model returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, 21 combined, while AWD versions return 18/24/20. In testing, combined fuel economy came in at 18.3 mpg.

The 2020 Toyota Sienna is offered in 8 trim levels: L, LE, SE, SE Premium, XLE, XLE Premium, Limited, and Limited Premium.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The L is well equipped, but it lacks the convenience upgrades that make family life easier, such as power sliding doors and the liftgate found higher up the range.
- Sweet-spot trim: The SE is the best value pick because it adds a power rear liftgate, heated front seats, leather upholstery, and distinctive styling without jumping all the way to luxury pricing.
- Premium/top trim: The Limited Premium is the most upscale choice, adding HID headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and the DVD entertainment system on top of the Limited’s leather, navigation, and JBL audio.
- Off-road trim: None of the trims are aimed at off-road use, so you should focus on family convenience and daily drivability instead.
Blind-spot monitoring is standard on XLE and Limited, which makes those trims easier to recommend if safety convenience matters to you.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Toyota Sienna?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 999 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.07% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 69.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $26,574.96, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2020 Toyota Sienna's resale value?
The current average of $27,060 sits slightly below last year's $29,118.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more affordably now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability rather than broad market momentum. Well-equipped family vans tend to hold attention when they’re clean, well maintained, and priced realistically.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2020 Toyota Sienna safe?
The Sienna earns five-star ratings from NHTSA and a Good rating from IIHS in many areas, including side crash, rollover crash, and moderate front overlap crash.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense P is standard, and it includes lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning and avoidance with pedestrian detection, dynamic cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is optional on lower trims and standard on XLE and Limited.
One caveat is the Sienna’s twitchy steering, which makes its lane-keeping and collision-avoidance tech especially relevant for everyday driving.
Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2020 if:
- 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 69.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.07% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It stands out as the only minivan in its class with available all-wheel drive.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $35,241, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $27,060 average.
- It brings a standard hybrid powertrain and much better fuel efficiency.
The bottom line: If you want the lower purchase price and the traditional V6 Sienna formula, the 2020 is the better value. If fuel economy matters more than upfront cost, the 2021 is the smarter long-term choice for price-insensitive buyers.
