Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $17,660, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $18,922 average.
• It emphasizes style, value, and a more refined driving feel.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,788, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $18,922 average.
• It adds more comfort and a more engaging personality.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best all-around starting point if you want a balanced mix of price, satisfaction, and available inventory. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2019 is the better value play; if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling option, the 2021 is the natural upgrade path.
