Is the 2020 Nissan Kicks reliable?

The owner feedback also emphasizes that the Kicks is dependable in the ways that matter most to budget-conscious shoppers: it delivers value, fuel efficiency, and a straightforward ownership experience. What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Nissan Kicks?

At 74.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history before you commit. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive or the vehicle has higher mileage. Focus on overall condition, maintenance evidence, and how the car drives, since a clean-looking listing can still hide past damage or deferred upkeep.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Kicks?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,195 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.71% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,985, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Nissan Kicks's resale value?

The current average of $12,985 sits slightly below last year's $14,223.

That softer pricing suggests the Kicks has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive resale environment than before. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your exit value later. The model’s broad appeal as a value-focused commuter should still support demand among shoppers looking for an affordable small SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Kicks or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $11,907, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $12,985 average.
• It emphasizes affordable, efficient commuting with standard safety features.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $14,494, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $12,985 average.
• It adds more features while keeping the same easygoing, budget-friendly appeal.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best all-around pick if you want a balanced mix of price, owner satisfaction, and available inventory. If your top priority is spending less, the 2019 is the better value play. If you want a newer version with more features and can stretch your budget, the 2021 is worth a look.
