Used 2020 Lexus RX for Sale near Maryland

How much does the 2020 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 1.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,377 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Lexus RX earns a 4.88/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

Drivers consistently praise its luxury feel, comfort, quiet interior, smooth ride, and reliability. The RX also stands out for its spacious cabin and relaxed daily-driver character, especially if you want a midsize luxury SUV that prioritizes refinement over flash.

The main trade-offs are its unintuitive technology and some cabin-noise complaints at moderate speeds. It fits best if you want a comfortable, upscale SUV with broad appeal rather than a tech-forward or especially sporty one.

The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 37.0% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2020 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers repeatedly describe the RX as reliable, dependable, and a vehicle they can count on for the long haul. The user feedback also points to a trouble-free ownership experience centered on comfort and consistency.

The expert evaluation reinforces that reputation by emphasizing Lexus’ long-running reliability and the RX’s familiar, proven formula. Lexus also includes a three-year subscription to Lexus Enform Safety Connect and a 10-year subscription to Enform Service Connect.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about core durability and more about whether the technology and connected services still work as expected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Lexus RX?

At 67.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. After that, prioritize a careful inspection of the cabin electronics, infotainment controls, and any features that may have been used heavily or repaired after an incident. Because the RX is valued for comfort and refinement, condition matters a lot.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The refreshed exterior and interior bring standard 18-inch wheels, slimmer headlights, L-shaped taillights, and available triple-beam LED headlights. The F Sport appearance package adds a unique steering wheel and shift knob, aluminum pedals, bumpers, grille, badges, front seats, meter, aluminum ornamentation, and 20-inch wheels.
• Powertrain: All RX 350 models use a 3.5-liter V6 with an eight-speed automatic and 295 horsepower, while the three-row RX 350L is rated at 290 horsepower. The RX 450h hybrid pairs the V6 with an electric motor for 308 horsepower, and the RX 450hL uses the same setup with a different output mix.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 includes adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, daytime bicyclist detection, low-light pedestrian detection, road-sign assist, and lane-tracing assist. Blind-spot monitoring is available.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 8.0 inches, with an available 12.3-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay is standard, Android Auto is included, and the system also supports Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Spotify, Pandora, Google Maps, Waze, Apple Music, Apple Maps, and WhatsApp. Lexus added two USB ports for a total of six.
• Fuel efficiency: The RX 350 achieves 23 mpg combined, the RX 350L and RX 350 AWD get 22 mpg combined, and the RX 350L AWD gets 21 mpg combined. The RX 450h AWD gets 30 mpg combined, and the RX 450hL gets 29 mpg combined.

Which 2020 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2020 Lexus RX is offered in 6 trim levels: RX 350, RX 350L, RX 450h, RX 450hL, RX 350 F Sport, RX 450h F Sport.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350: This is the best-value choice if you want the core RX experience: the 3.5-liter V6, smooth eight-speed automatic, strong comfort, and the standard equipment that makes the RX appealing without pushing the price up too far.
• RX 350L: Choose this if you need the extra space and flexibility of the three-row layout. It gives you the same basic RX formula with added practicality for passengers or cargo.
• RX 450h: This is the pick if fuel economy matters most. It adds hybrid efficiency and more power than the standard RX 350, making it the strongest all-around choice for buyers who want efficiency without giving up luxury.
• RX 450hL: Go here if you want the hybrid powertrain and the three-row body style together. It’s the most practical hybrid version, but it’s also the priciest way to get into the RX lineup.
• RX 350 F Sport: This is for you if you want the sportier appearance package and the added visual and chassis-focused upgrades. It’s the right call if style matters more than value.
• RX 450h F Sport: This combines the hybrid powertrain with the F Sport treatment, so it suits buyers who want efficiency and a more aggressive look in one package.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, with Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 standard and blind-spot monitoring available.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,377 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,453, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $32,945 sits slightly below last year's $33,542.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also suggests future sellers may need to price competitively if the market stays loose. The year-round range is fairly tight, which can support stability, but it also means condition and equipment will matter a lot when you eventually resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Lexus RX safe?

The Lexus RX earns good safety ratings from both IIHS and NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, daytime bicyclist detection, low-light pedestrian detection, road-sign assist, and lane-tracing assist. A rearview camera is standard, and blind-spot monitoring is available.

One caveat is that Lexus Enform Safety Connect did not always stay connected during testing, so you should not assume every connected-service feature will behave perfectly in daily use.

Should I buy a 2020 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 refresh adds standard daytime bicyclist detection, low-light pedestrian detection, road-sign assist, and lane-tracing assist.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,381, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $32,945 average.
• It adds a few tech upgrades and new standard safety systems.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the smarter buy because pricing has eased and the feature set is strong. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model with incremental updates, the 2021 is the cleaner alternative.
