Used 2020 Lexus IS for Sale nearColumbus, OH

How much does the 2020 Lexus IS cost?

Prices have softened 1.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 463 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Lexus IS a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. The 2020 Lexus IS is positioned as a compact luxury sedan that leans into driving enjoyment, and it is also described as Lexus’s entry-level model, which helps explain its appeal if you want a sporty feel without moving into a larger luxury car. It is not the roomiest choice in the class, though, since the back seat is really tight and cargo space is limited. With 32.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2020 Lexus IS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 Lexus IS is described as a compact luxury sedan with a strong emphasis on driving enjoyment, and it carries the kind of polished feature set that helps it feel well equipped for daily use. Its drawbacks are more about practicality than durability, with poor fuel economy, cramped rear seating, and limited cargo space standing out in the model’s profile. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s character and more about choosing a well-kept example that has been maintained consistently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Lexus IS?

At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, since the best used example will be the one that balances price, maintenance history, and cosmetic and mechanical wear.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Lexus IS?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings if you compare carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 463 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,860, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $27,337 sits slightly below last year's $27,803.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also suggests future sellers may need to be realistic when it is time to trade in or list the car. A model that is already trending lower can be harder to position at a premium unless it has especially strong condition, mileage, and service history. If you buy well today, you may reduce the risk of overpaying and improve your odds of holding value better over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $34,670, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $27,337 average.
• It brings a sharper fourth-generation redesign with more modern styling and a stronger enthusiast focus.

The 2020 is the better pick if you want the lower entry price and a market with decent deal availability. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer-generation design and more up-to-date feel, the 2021 is the stronger upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2020 offers the better value proposition right now.
