How much does the 2020 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 10.56% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,999 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Sorentos to compare.

Is the 2020 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Kia Sorento earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview shows a practical midsize SUV with improved interior quality, more passenger room, and a more accommodating third row than earlier versions, though that third row is still best for kids. It also balances features and value well, with a cleaner exterior refresh and useful family-focused equipment. With 33.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The overview points to a well-developed third-generation Sorento with improved size, cabin quality, and family usability, plus a broad set of practical features. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle you choose has been maintained well enough to preserve that value and everyday usefulness.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Kia Sorento?

At 67.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any listing that looks especially clean or unusually cheap. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the third row, interior, and safety features all work as expected. If you want the best odds of a trouble-free purchase, narrow your search to the best-documented examples first.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Kia Sorento?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,999 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.56% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,903, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $14,903 sits slightly below last year's $16,663.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited unless you choose a well-kept example. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter a lot because buyers will likely compare your Sorento against similarly priced alternatives. A clean history and strong maintenance record should help your vehicle stand out when it’s time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $13,631, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $14,903 average.
• It offers a stylish, luxurious feel with strong family appeal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,974, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $14,903 average.
• It brings a redesigned body with standard advanced safety features.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best fit if you want a value-oriented Sorento with strong owner satisfaction and a softer used-market price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2019 is the smarter budget play; if you want a newer redesign and are willing to pay more, the 2021 is the upgrade path.
