How much does the 2020 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 11.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,991 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and conditions.

Is the 2020 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2020 Sorento’s appeal comes from its balance of practicality, features, and value. It offers a more substantial midsize-SUV feel, improved interior quality, and more passenger room than earlier versions, while the third row is still best for kids or occasional use. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a family hauler with a polished cabin and useful everyday versatility. 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 Sorento’s reliability case is supported by its mature third-generation design and the fact that Kia had already improved the size, cabin quality, and passenger space by this point. It also benefits from a practical feature set that includes standard rear parking sensors and available driver-assistance tech, which can make ownership feel easier and more confidence-inspiring. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is choosing a poorly maintained example, especially one with a history that needs closer scrutiny.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Kia Sorento?

At 68.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if the listing has any accident or repair history. Focus on overall condition, signs of uneven wear, and whether the third row, interior trim, and electronics have held up as expected. Because this model is often bought as a family vehicle, you’ll want to pay close attention to how well it has been maintained rather than relying on mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,991 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.01% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,096, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $15,103 sits slightly below last year's $16,971.

That price decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. A clean history and strong presentation matter more when the broader market has softened.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $13,757, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $15,103 average.
• It offers a more established, comfort-focused take on the Sorento with strong family appeal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $20,281, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $15,103 average.
• It brings a redesigned body and standard advanced safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and everyday usefulness, the 2020 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2019 is the better secondary option because it undercuts the current-year average while still delivering strong family utility.
