How much does the 2020 Ford Edge cost?

Prices have softened 7.90% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,517 listings available, which suggests you should have a solid range of choices.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Ford Edge earns a 4.6/5 user rating, and our experts give it an 8/10 overall score. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, and modern features, and they also highlight the roomy interior and solid build quality. The Edge’s practical appeal is reinforced by its easy-to-use tech setup, which makes it a straightforward choice if you want a midsize two-row SUV that is useful rather than flashy.

The trade-offs are that its styling is uninspired and the base engine is underwhelming. Even so, the Edge fits well if you value everyday comfort, cabin space, and a well-equipped feel over standout design or excitement.

Only 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective rather than deeply discounted.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, comfortable, and solidly built, with many owners describing it as a strong long-term choice. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Edge is well equipped and practical, which supports the sense that it is built to be lived with every day.

That said, some owners mention technical issues, especially with the transmission and certain tech features, so a careful test drive and service-history review matter on the used market. For long-term ownership, you should pay close attention to how the transmission behaves and whether the electronics work as intended.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford Edge?

At 74.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on this model year because condition can vary meaningfully from one listing to the next. Focus on signs of wear in the cabin, the operation of the tech features, and how the drivetrain feels on a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE comes with a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, satellite radio, a WiFi hotspot, two USB ports, remote keyless entry, SYNC 3 with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa, dual-zone climate control, and Ford Co-Pilot360. The SEL adds LED fog lights, heated side mirrors, 18-inch aluminum wheels, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a six-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, a nine-speaker premium audio system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Titanium adds 19-inch nickel-plated aluminum wheels, genuine leather upholstery, a 10-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, driver’s seat memory, a wall-style power outlet, remote start, wireless charging, and a B&O 12-speaker sound system. The ST adds a bigger engine, standard AWD, and sportier styling.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, with front-wheel drive or available AWD through an eight-speed automatic. The ST uses a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque and standard AWD. The standard engine is described as solid around town but less eager at higher speeds.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard on every trim and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. SEL buyers can add Co-Pilot360 Assist+, which adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go traffic capability and active lane centering.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and Amazon Alexa. Voice-activated navigation is optional on the SEL and ST and standard on the Titanium, and the system includes SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link with five years prepaid.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter four-cylinder with front-wheel drive returns 21 mpg city, 29 highway, 24 combined. With AWD, it returns 21 mpg city, 28 highway, 23 combined. The ST returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, 21 combined.

Which 2020 Ford Edge trim should I buy?

The 2020 Ford Edge is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, and ST.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the Edge’s core strengths without paying for extras. You still get SYNC 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, and Ford Co-Pilot360, so it covers the essentials well.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, upgraded audio, and more comfort features without jumping to luxury pricing. It also unlocks the optional Co-Pilot360 Assist+ package.
• Titanium: Choose this if you want a more upscale cabin, leather upholstery, wireless charging, remote start, and the stronger premium audio setup. It is the right fit if comfort and convenience matter more than price.
• ST: This is the performance choice, with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, standard AWD, and sportier tuning and styling. It makes sense if you want the quickest and most engaging Edge.

The SEL is the best-value trim for most used buyers, and the available Co-Pilot360 Assist+ package is the key safety upgrade to look for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford Edge?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully but not so much that every listing is deeply discounted.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,517 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.90% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,488, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $16,488 sits slightly below last year's $17,903.

That price movement suggests the Edge has softened enough to help used buyers today, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment if the market keeps drifting downward. If you buy at a strong price and keep the vehicle in good condition, you can help protect your exit value later. The Edge’s broad appeal as a practical, well-equipped SUV should still support demand, especially among shoppers who prioritize comfort and space.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge safe?

The 2020 Ford Edge received a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests and four-star ratings in rollover crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 comes standard on every trim and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. If you move up to the SEL, you can add Co-Pilot360 Assist+, which brings adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and active lane centering.

One caveat is that IIHS headlight performance varies by trim, with some versions rated lower than others, so you should pay attention to the specific equipment on any used listing.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines standard Co-Pilot360 safety tech with easy-to-use SYNC 3 and available ST performance.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $14,996, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $16,488 average.
• It offers roomy practicality and an available ST trim.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,554, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $16,488 average.
• It adds some new tech features while keeping the same roomy, comfortable formula.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best all-around pick if you want a well-equipped Edge at a softened used price. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2019 is worth a look; if you want newer tech and can spend more, the 2021 is the alternative to compare.
