How much does the 2020 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 12.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 8,127 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Generally — the 2020 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4.38/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction and solid overall appeal. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the rugged design, off-road capability, and comfort touches like heated seats. The feedback also points to useful modern features and a vehicle that feels distinctive rather than generic.

The trade-offs are familiar: fuel economy is a common complaint, and some owners wish for features like adaptive cruise control. The Wrangler’s appeal is strongest if you want a vehicle with real off-road credibility and a highly recognizable personality.

With 35.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is enough market flexibility to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.38/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also emphasizes that the Wrangler can feel dependable and trouble-free when it is used for the kind of rugged driving it was built for. The expert evaluation reinforces that this is a vehicle with a clear purpose and a durable, go-anywhere character.

Jeep also notes that the Wrangler’s off-road hardware and powertrain choices are built for real use, not just appearance. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a hard-used example may show wear from trail duty, so condition matters more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Jeep Wrangler?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a documented past. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on wear from off-road use, since the Wrangler’s appeal often means it has lived a harder life than a typical SUV. Pay close attention to how the vehicle drives, how the cabin equipment works, and whether the condition matches the seller’s description.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport is very sparse, with a 5-inch touchscreen, manual windows and locks, and little else, while the Sport S adds power windows and locks, air conditioning, and remote keyless entry. The Sahara is the most upscale trim and adds body-color fender flares, 18-inch alloy wheels, bigger brakes, and more available comfort features, while the Rubicon adds lifted off-road suspension and mud-terrain tires.
• Powertrain: The base 3.6-liter V6 makes 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, and a turbocharged 4-cylinder is also available. The new 3.0-liter turbodiesel makes 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, giving you the strongest low-speed pull and a meaningful torque advantage.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes airbags, electronic roll mitigation, and a backup camera. The base safety package adds rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-path detection, while the Advanced Safety Group adds adaptive cruise control and full-speed forward-collision warning.
• Infotainment: The Sport and Sport S use a basic 5-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The Rubicon and Sahara come standard with a 7-inch touchscreen with Uconnect, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, and an available 8.4-inch system adds navigation, HD Radio, real-time traffic and weather updates, and a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel returns 22 mpg city, 29 highway, and 25 combined. The most efficient gas-powered version returns 21 mpg city, 22 highway, and 21 combined.

Which 2020 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?

The 2020 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, Sport S, Sahara, and Rubicon.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the most stripped-down version, and it makes the Wrangler’s rugged personality obvious with manual windows and locks, a 5-inch touchscreen, and very little extra comfort equipment. It works best if you want the lowest entry point and plan to build from there.
• Sport S: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds power windows and locks, air conditioning, and remote keyless entry without jumping too far up the price ladder. It also opens the door to the Technology Package and Cold Weather Group, which make daily use much easier.
• Sahara: This is the more comfort-focused choice, with body-color fender flares, 18-inch alloy wheels, bigger brakes, and standard 7-inch infotainment. If you want a Wrangler that feels more polished for commuting while still keeping the core identity, this is the trim to target.
• Rubicon: This is the most off-road-focused trim, with lifted suspension, mud-terrain tires, and the most serious trail hardware in the lineup. It suits you best if trail performance matters more than everyday comfort.

The safety packages are worth considering on any trim, especially if you want blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, or adaptive cruise control.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Jeep Wrangler?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 8,127 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,047, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $25,047 sits slightly below last year's $28,712.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. For a future seller, the key question is whether the Wrangler’s strong brand appeal and off-road reputation continue to support demand. Because this model has broad recognition and a loyal audience, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than many other used SUVs.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.38/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Jeep Wrangler safe?

The 2020 Jeep Wrangler earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes airbags, electronic roll mitigation, and a backup camera. Jeep’s base safety package adds rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-path detection, while the Advanced Safety Group adds adaptive cruise control and full-speed forward-collision warning. Automatic high beams are also noted on the test model.

The main caveat is that the Wrangler’s awkward sightlines make the available driver-assistance features especially valuable. If you want the most confidence in daily driving, you should prioritize a trim or package combination that includes the broader safety suite.

Should I buy a 2020 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.38/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 adds a new diesel engine that brings stronger torque and broadens the powertrain lineup.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $27,396, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,047 average.
• It adds a Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid and a Hemi V8 for more powertrain variety.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and a strong mix of inventory, pricing, and owner satisfaction, the 2020 is the smarter starting point. If you are willing to pay more for newer powertrain choices, the 2021 is the better fit, especially if you want one of its exclusive four-door options.
