Used 2020 Hyundai Veloster for Sale near Michigan

How much does the 2020 Hyundai Veloster cost?

Prices have softened 11.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 168 listings available, which gives you a modest pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Veloster a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2020 Hyundai Veloster stands out because it keeps the model’s unusual three-door hatchback layout while adding more power, slightly bigger proportions, and a lot more technology. It also wears more aggressive styling, which helps reinforce its hot-hatch personality. For buyers who want something practical but still playful, that combination is a big part of the appeal.

This model year also benefits from a strong equipment list. Standard features include forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, automatic headlights, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, cruise control, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and a seven-inch infotainment system. Available features include blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, wireless phone charging, an eight-speaker Infinity premium audio system, automatic climate control, LED headlights, and a head-up display. The 2020 Veloster Turbo Ultimate lost its manual transmission, and wireless charging became standard on the Turbo model.

There are a few tradeoffs, though. The Veloster’s three-door design is polarizing, and the back seat is cramped. Even so, the 2020 Hyundai Veloster remains appealing because it blends fun-to-drive character with hatchback usefulness and a broad mix of modern tech.

With 28.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Veloster reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 Hyundai Veloster’s appeal comes from its mix of modern tech, useful hatchback practicality, and a distinctive layout that gives it a clear identity. Standard safety and convenience equipment is broad, and the model’s overall package is aimed at buyers who want something practical without feeling ordinary.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about finding a well-kept example than worrying about the model’s basic formula.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Hyundai Veloster?

At 62.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any car that looks especially appealing on price. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, interior wear, and evidence of prior repairs so you can separate a clean example from one that only looks good in photos.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Hyundai Veloster?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 168 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.07% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,080, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Hyundai Veloster's resale value?

The current average of $14,242 sits slightly below last year's $16,015.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you keep the car in strong condition and buy at the lower end of the range, you improve your chances of minimizing depreciation pain later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Hyundai Veloster or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $12,110, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $14,242 average.
• It offers a distinctive, fun-to-drive redesign with practical appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around value proposition, the 2020 is the better primary target because it combines modern tech, a broad feature set, and a softer market. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2019 is the better secondary path, especially if you find a clean example with the right condition and history.
