Used 2020 GMC Acadia for Sale nearSaint Paul, MN

How much does the 2020 GMC Acadia cost?

Prices have softened 11.29% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,671 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 GMC Acadia a good car?

Yes — with a 4.94/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating, the 2020 GMC Acadia lands as a well-liked family SUV with broad appeal. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth and quiet ride, the spacious interior, and the impressive features. The upscale Denali trim is especially well liked for its luxurious feel, and the Acadia’s comfort and design make it a strong fit for family trips. In use-case terms, you’re looking at a three-row crossover that aims to feel more distinctive than a plain utility vehicle while still serving everyday family duty.

The trade-offs are that some shoppers feel the price is a bit high, and the SUV’s value remains a question mark. The expert review also points to fairly pedestrian performance and notes that advanced safety features are not standard. Even so, 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 GMC Acadia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.94/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as smooth, quiet, comfortable, and well suited to family use, which points to a dependable ownership experience. The expert review also emphasizes that the Acadia is easy to live with and that its technology is simple to understand and use, which supports the sense that it’s a trouble-free daily driver for many buyers.

GMC also includes first scheduled maintenance visit coverage at no charge, which helps soften early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether you’re comfortable with the Acadia’s value proposition and feature content at the price you pay.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 GMC Acadia?

At 67.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with a lower asking price. Focus on condition, prior damage, and whether the equipment you want is actually present, since this model’s feature content varies a lot by trim. It’s also worth checking that the technology and driver-assistance systems work properly, because the Acadia’s appeal depends heavily on convenience features.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Acadia comes in SL, SLE, SLT, new rugged AT4, and luxurious Denali trim levels. The base trim is the most stripped-down, while higher trims add more upscale cabin details, and the Denali stands out with leather upholstery, wood trim, and a more premium presentation.
• Powertrain: Lower trims have a 193-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The SLT gets a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 230 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the AT4 and Denali use a 310-hp 3.6-liter V6. All versions use a nine-speed automatic, and the V6 is the strongest choice if you want smoother, more effortless power.
• Safety package: The standard safety suite includes blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic warning, plus rear-seat reminder and Teen Driver technology. Forward collision warning and low-speed automatic emergency braking require at least SLT or AT4, and the more advanced automatic emergency braking setup is exclusive to Denali.
• Infotainment: Every Acadia includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and GMC Connected Services with a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. Versions with an 8-inch touchscreen get a higher-resolution display, a simpler interface, and improved voice recognition.
• Fuel efficiency: The test vehicle returned 21 mpg in combined driving, and the review notes automatic engine stop/start and cylinder deactivation as fuel-saving features.

Which 2020 GMC Acadia trim should I buy?

The 2020 GMC Acadia is offered in 5 trim levels: SL, SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali.

Here's the short version:

• SL: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Acadia, but you should expect the fewest comfort and convenience upgrades. It’s best for shoppers who mainly want the size and basic family utility.
• SLE: This trim adds a bit more everyday usability while staying close to the value end of the lineup. It’s a sensible choice if you want a straightforward Acadia without chasing luxury extras.
• SLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and unlocks more of the safety tech that’s missing on lower trims. If you want the strongest balance of equipment and price, this is the one to target.
• AT4: Choose this if you want the rugged personality and the standard V6, along with the dual-clutch AWD system and all-terrain tires. It’s the trim for buyers who like the tougher look and want the most capability-oriented setup.
• Denali: This is the luxury pick, with the V6, upscale cabin materials, and the most premium presentation. It suits you best if comfort and image matter more than value.

Safety-package note: forward collision warning and low-speed automatic emergency braking start at SLT or AT4, while the enhanced automatic emergency braking system is reserved for Denali.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 GMC Acadia?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,671 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.29% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,919, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $19,919 sits slightly below last year's $22,455.

That decline suggests the Acadia has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable point if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, it means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, trim, and equipment rather than on broad market momentum alone. Well-equipped examples with desirable features and clean histories should hold up better than plain or heavily used ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.94/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 GMC Acadia safe?

The 2020 Acadia earns five-star ratings in most NHTSA assessments, plus a four-star rollover resistance rating, and the IIHS gives it high marks in the tests it has completed.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes rear-seat reminder, Teen Driver technology, automatic collision notification, SOS emergency calling, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic warning. If you want forward collision warning and low-speed automatic emergency braking, you need at least SLT or AT4, and the enhanced automatic emergency braking system is exclusive to Denali. The expert review also flags incomplete IIHS coverage, including no headlight test and no small-overlap frontal-impact test for the front passenger, so there are still some gaps in the safety picture.

Should I buy a 2020 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.94/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 refresh adds bolder styling, a new AT4 trim, a turbocharged four-cylinder, a nine-speed automatic, and updated technology.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $17,123, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $19,919 average.
• It feels more upscale and distinctive than many other three-row midsize SUVs.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped and more updated Acadia, the 2020 is the stronger pick, especially if you value the refreshed styling and added technology. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2019 is the better value path, provided you’re comfortable giving up the 2020’s updates.
