Used 2020 GMC Acadia for Sale nearNew Orleans, LA

How much does the 2020 GMC Acadia cost?

Prices have softened 11.29% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,673 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable selection to compare.

Is the 2020 GMC Acadia a good car?

Yes — the 2020 GMC Acadia earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth and quiet ride, the spacious interior, and the impressive features. The upscale Denali trim is also a recurring highlight, especially for its more luxurious feel.

The trade-offs are clear: the price can feel high, cargo space could be better, and the technology updates do not fully erase the model’s value concerns. Even so, the Acadia’s roomy third row and easy-to-use technology make it a practical fit if you want a family-friendly three-row SUV with a more upscale personality.

Only 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2020 GMC Acadia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe the Acadia as smooth, quiet, and comfortable, and those qualities often go hand in hand with a dependable ownership experience. The user feedback also points to a vehicle that many owners feel good about living with over time.

The expert evaluation reinforces that impression with notes about a refined powertrain and a ride that behaves predictably in daily driving. GMC also includes the first maintenance visit at no charge, which helps a little with early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the vehicle’s value and equipment level still match what you expect to pay.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 GMC Acadia?

At 66.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on condition details that matter in a family SUV: interior wear, technology operation, and evidence of prior bodywork or repairs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Acadia comes in SL, SLE, SLT, new rugged AT4, and luxurious Denali trim levels. The base SL gets the core setup, but the safety content shows that forward collision warning and low-speed automatic emergency braking are not standard until you move up to SLT or AT4, and the Denali gets the most exclusive safety upgrade.
• Powertrain: Lower trims use a 193-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, while SLT adds a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 230 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque. AT4 and Denali use a 310-hp 3.6-liter V6, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission across the lineup.
• Safety package: The standard setup includes blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, rear-seat reminder, Teen Driver technology, and GMC Connected Services with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency calling. Forward collision warning, low-speed automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, pedestrian braking, parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and a head-up display are bundled into a Driver Alert Package on SLT and AT4, while enhanced automatic emergency braking is reserved for Denali.
• Infotainment: Every Acadia includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and GMC Connected Services with a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. Versions with an 8-inch touchscreen get a higher-resolution display, a simpler interface, and improved voice recognition, and the model also adds USB-C ports, an optional wireless charging pad, a high-definition surround-view camera, and a rear camera mirror.
• Fuel efficiency: The test vehicle returned 21 mpg in combined driving, and the expert notes that the powertrain is tuned for fuel economy with automatic engine stop/start and cylinder deactivation.

Which 2020 GMC Acadia trim should I buy?

The 2020 GMC Acadia is offered in 5 trim levels: SL, SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali.

Here's the short version:

• SL: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Acadia’s space and standard tech without paying for extras. It gives you the core infotainment setup and the standard blind-spot and rear cross-traffic warnings, but you should expect the fewest convenience and safety upgrades.
• SLE: This trim is the straightforward step up if you want a little more equipment without jumping into the pricier specialty trims. It keeps the Acadia’s easy-to-use cabin and family-friendly layout while staying closer to the value end of the lineup.
• SLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and unlocks the Driver Alert Package. If you want the strongest mix of equipment, safety upgrades, and everyday usability, this is the trim to focus on.
• AT4: Choose this if you want the rugged personality and the standard 310-hp V6. It also gets the dual-clutch AWD system and all-terrain tires, so it is the trim that most clearly leans into the Acadia’s more adventurous side.
• Denali: This is the luxury pick, with the 310-hp V6, upscale trim details, and the most exclusive safety content. It suits you best if you want the most premium Acadia experience and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is not fully standard across the lineup, so trim choice matters more here than it does on some rivals.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 GMC Acadia?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,673 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.29% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,696, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $19,696 sits slightly below last year's $22,203.

That decline suggests the Acadia has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you keep the vehicle in good condition and avoid overpaying now, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later.

The model’s broad family appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it is time to sell. Trim and equipment level will matter, though, because buyers in this segment tend to reward the versions that feel better equipped and better maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 GMC Acadia safe?

The 2020 Acadia earns five-star ratings in most NHTSA assessments, plus a four-star rollover resistance rating. The IIHS gives it high marks in other tests, though some evaluations were incomplete.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety setup includes a rear-seat reminder system, Teen Driver technology, automatic collision notification, SOS emergency calling, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic warning. If you want forward collision warning and low-speed automatic emergency braking, you need to move up to SLT or AT4, and the enhanced automatic emergency braking system is exclusive to Denali.

That trim-level gap matters because the Acadia’s safety story is solid but not fully comprehensive at the base level. If safety equipment is a priority, you should focus on trims that include the Driver Alert Package or the Denali-specific upgrade.

Should I buy a 2020 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 refresh adds bolder styling, a new AT4 trim, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and updated technology.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $16,750, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $19,696 average.
• It feels more upscale than many rivals while still emphasizing refinement and practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the refreshed 2020 Acadia’s updated styling, added tech, and broader trim appeal, it is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2019 can still make sense as a more affordable way into the same basic family-SUV formula.
