At 64.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

That price movement suggests the model has softened, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For future resale, that also means you should be realistic about depreciation and focus on buying the cleanest, best-priced example you can find. A lower purchase price can help cushion the impact if you decide to sell later.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Dodge Journey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if you want the strongest mix of current pricing and available inventory, especially if you can verify a clean history and find a well-maintained example. If you're especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still be worth comparing, but the 2020 gives you a clear, data-backed starting point for shopping.
