There are 2,311 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Dodge Durango earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10. Drivers consistently praise its spacious interior, comfort, and smooth driving experience, and many also value its towing capacity and performance. In use, that lines up with the Durango’s three-row practicality and its more performance-focused personality, especially if you want space and attitude in the same SUV. The main trade-offs are a dated feel versus newer rivals and some usability compromises compared with segment leaders. Good and great deals account for 31.8% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Drivers describe it as spacious, comfortable, and smooth to drive, and they also highlight its towing ability and performance in everyday use. That combination points to a vehicle many owners feel they can count on for family duty and heavier tasks. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure prior use and maintenance history are clean before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Dodge Durango?

At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the cabin and mechanicals match the seller’s description. Because this model year has a noticeable share of accident history in the market, condition and documentation matter more than usual.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SXT comes with 18-inch wheels, three-zone climate control, manually adjustable front seats, a 7-inch digital instrument panel screen, dual USB ports, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a six-speaker stereo. The GT adds 20-inch wheels, a sport-inspired grille, remote start, LED fog lights, dual exhaust, a power rear liftgate, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and satellite radio. The R/T adds rain-sensing wipers, a four-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, memory settings for the driver’s seat and power-adjustable tilt-telescoping steering wheel, leather-and-suede upholstery, heated front seats, heated rear seats, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Citadel adds unique chrome exterior touches, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, a power moonroof, second-row captains chairs with a center console, and premium leather upholstery. The SRT adds an aggressive lower front fascia, auto-leveling headlights, 20-inch black wheels, ventilated front seats, and unique leather-and-suede seats with an embossed SRT logo.
• Powertrain: The SXT, GT, and Citadel come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The R/T uses a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, and that engine is also available on the Citadel. The SRT gets a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. All engines use an 8-speed automatic transmission, with rear-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive depending on trim.
• Safety package: The Durango comes with front- and side-impact airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and trailer sway control. Rear parking sensors are available on the SXT and standard on all other trims, while the R/T, Citadel, and SRT add front- and rear parking sensors. The Technology Group package adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision avoidance, and lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection are also available. Those driver-assistance features are optional rather than standard.
• Infotainment: The SXT and GT use a 7-inch touchscreen, while an 8.4-inch touchscreen is optional on the GT and standard on all other trims. The system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the R/T, Citadel, and SRT add navigation and SiriusXM Travel Link with real-time traffic and weather updates. Those trims also get an Alpine premium audio system with nine speakers and a subwoofer, with a 19-speaker Harman Kardon system available.
• Fuel efficiency: The base V6 with rear-wheel drive returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 21 combined. With all-wheel drive, it returns 18/25/21. The 5.7-liter V8 returns 14/22/17, and the range-topping SRT returns 13/19/15.

Which 2020 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2020 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T, SRT.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point and gives you the core Durango experience with the V6, a 7-inch touchscreen, and the basic cabin and convenience equipment. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable with a simpler feature set.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds 20-inch wheels, remote start, LED fog lights, dual exhaust, a power rear liftgate, and an 8-way power driver’s seat. It also keeps the Durango’s easy-to-use tech and adds a more upscale look without jumping into V8 pricing.
• Citadel: This is the trim to choose if you want a more luxury-minded Durango, with chrome exterior touches, polished wheels, a power moonroof, second-row captains chairs, and premium leather. It also can be had with the V8, which makes it a stronger near-luxury option.
• R/T: This is the right pick if you want a stronger performance feel, since it adds the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 along with heated seats, leather-and-suede upholstery, memory settings, and the larger 8.4-inch touchscreen. It suits you best if power matters as much as comfort.
• SRT: This is the top performance choice, with the 6.4-liter Hemi V8, performance-tuned suspension, Brembo brakes, and a more aggressive appearance. It is the one to buy if you want the most serious driving character in the lineup.

Advanced safety features are not standard, so you should pay close attention to whether a given trim includes the Technology Group package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Dodge Durango?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what to look for.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,311 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.28% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,670, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $20,672 sits slightly below last year's $23,041.

That decline suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make the Durango easier to purchase now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you buy at a strong price and keep the vehicle in clean condition, you can help protect your position when it’s time to resell. The model’s broad appeal as a roomy, performance-oriented SUV should still support demand, especially for well-equipped examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango safe?

The Durango earns a four-star rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side crash testing and four-star ratings in all other phases. It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Durango comes with front- and side-impact airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and trailer sway control. The key caveat is that these driver-assistance features are optional rather than standard.

Should I buy a 2020 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers multiple powertrain options, easy-to-use technology, and a spacious cabin.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,254, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $20,672 average.
• It adds the new SRT Hellcat variant.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because prices are softer and inventory is broad. If you want the newest performance-focused Durango and are willing to pay more, the 2021 is the upgrade path.
