Used 2020 Dodge Challenger for Sale nearToledo, OH

How much does the 2020 Dodge Challenger cost?

Prices have softened 4.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,041 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Dodge Challenger a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Dodge Challenger earns a 4.85/5 from owners and an 8.00/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Drivers consistently praise its powerful performance, stylish looks, and comfortable ride. Owners also highlight the handling and responsiveness of the engine, especially the Hemi options, along with the spacious interior and unique design.

The trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and the styling may be polarizing.

For you, that means the Challenger makes the most sense if you want a coupe with character, strong straight-line performance, and a cabin that still works for everyday use. Good and great deals account for 30.8% of listings, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Dodge Challenger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.85/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in the ways that matter to enthusiasts: strong performance, a comfortable ride, and a design that owners continue to enjoy over time. The review summary also emphasizes the engine’s responsiveness and the spacious cabin, both of which support day-to-day confidence.

The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by describing the Challenger as a serious performance car with modern technology and broad capability. It also notes that the car’s appeal comes from a combination of character and current features rather than novelty alone.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this kind of performance-focused coupe can bring higher running costs and more wear-sensitive components than a simpler commuter car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Dodge Challenger?

At 61.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has performance upgrades or a long list of options. Pay close attention to body condition, tire wear, brake condition, and signs of hard use, since this model’s appeal often attracts enthusiastic driving.

Key things to evaluate:

The GT and R/T also can be had with a 50th Anniversary package.
• Powertrain: The SXT and GT use a 3.6-liter V6 with 305 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic and available AWD. The R/T uses a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, the R/T Scat Pack steps up to a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 485 hp and 475 lb-ft, and Hellcat models use a supercharged 6.2-liter V8.

Which 2020 Dodge Challenger trim should I buy?

The 2020 Dodge Challenger is offered in 9 trim levels: SXT, GT, R/T, R/T Scat Pack, R/T Scat Pack Widebody, SRT Hellcat, SRT Hellcat Widebody, SRT Hellcat Redeye, and SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Challenger experience with the 7-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. It makes sense if you want the look and space without stretching for performance hardware.
• GT: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more style and convenience, including 20-inch wheels, remote start, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters. It also keeps the available AWD option, which broadens its appeal.
• R/T: Choose this if you want the V8 experience without jumping into the pricier performance trims. It adds the 5.7-liter Hemi and performance upgrades, making it the right step up for buyers who care most about engine character.
• R/T Scat Pack: This is the performance-for-the-dollar pick. It brings the 6.4-liter Hemi, Brembo brakes, launch control, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and the larger 8.4-inch touchscreen, so it feels like the sweet spot for enthusiasts.
• R/T Scat Pack Widebody: Pick this if you want the Scat Pack formula with a wider stance, wider tires, and flared fenders for a more aggressive setup.
• SRT Hellcat: This is for buyers who want supercharged V8 power and are willing to pay for it.
• SRT Hellcat Widebody: Choose this if you want the Hellcat’s power with the wider-body hardware and the added cornering confidence that comes with it.
• SRT Hellcat Redeye: This is the extreme straight-line choice, with even more power than the standard Hellcat and an automatic transmission only.
• SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody: This is the top-end version for buyers who want maximum output and the wider-body stance together.

The safety package is not standard, so if that matters to you, prioritize a trim or example equipped with the optional technology group and other available driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Dodge Challenger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,041 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,467, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Dodge Challenger's resale value?

The current average of $28,680 sits slightly below last year's $29,938.

That decline suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if prices continue to soften. If you plan to sell later, the current trend points to a market that is still adjusting rather than appreciating.

Even so, the Challenger’s strong enthusiast appeal helps support demand. Models with the right trim, condition, and equipment should remain easier to move than more ordinary coupes.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Dodge Challenger safe?

The 2020 Dodge Challenger earns a four-star rating for front driver’s side crash testing from NHTSA, a five-star rating for front passenger side testing, and a four-star rating for rollover testing. It also earns a “Good” result in many IIHS crash-test phases, but its overall IIHS score is “Marginal.”

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes front- and side-impact airbags, supplemental side curtain airbags, traction control, brake assist, and a child-seat anchoring system. The optional technology group adds forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path alert, and ParkSense reverse sensing are also available.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you should look closely at the equipment list on any used example you consider.

Should I buy a 2020 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 model adds new colors, additional interior design choices, and a 50th Anniversary package for some trims.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $31,587, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $28,680 average.
• It leans harder into straight-line speed and high-tech performance.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter starting point because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and plenty of inventory. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year and want the next step up in performance-focused character, the 2021 is the alternative to compare.
