CarGurus Analysis: 2020 Chrysler 300

Summary
With 617 currently listed for sale and an average price of $18,340, 26.7% of 2020 Chrysler 300s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2020 Chrysler 300 4.78 / 5 stars.
57.5% of 2020 Chrysler 300 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2020 Chrysler 300 stands out as a big rear-wheel-drive sedan that still delivers classic American luxury-car presence. By this point in its run, the 300 had already been updated with a softer, less self-consciously retro look, and its cabin had received major upgrades. It also benefited from the more upscale interior design introduced in the 2015 refresh, which helped keep the car feeling current even as its basic formula stayed familiar.
What makes the 2020 model especially appealing is the combination of space, durability, and available equipment. Chrysler’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8 gave buyers a choice of tough, durable engines, and all versions used automatic transmissions. The 300 also offered all-wheel drive on V6 models, while the UConnect system had already gained Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Buyers looking for a large sedan with a roomy cabin and a smooth, quiet character could still find a lot to like here.
There are tradeoffs, though. The 300’s size comes with a big appetite for fuel, and it is not as performance focused as its Dodge Charger sibling. Reliability is generally better in later examples, but the earliest years of the LD generation had the worst record, and complaints were higher in the 2011 and 2012 models than in later years. Even so, the 2020 Chrysler 300 remains distinctive for offering full-size comfort, rear-drive character, and a traditional sedan feel in a market that had largely moved away from cars like it.

Best sedan in its category. Built well and updated but not drastically changed over time. Lot of room inside and solid construction. Very quiet ride and good power. Gets 20 MPG in city and about 28 MPG on highway. I love mine and used low mileage vehicle are a bargain.

Is the 2020 Chrysler 300 a good car?
Yes — the 2020 Chrysler 300 earns a 4.78/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.
Drivers commonly praise its smooth and quiet ride, good power, and ample space. Many also like its affordability and design, especially if you want a large sedan with a traditional feel and a roomy cabin. That makes it a sensible fit if you value comfort, presence, and easy daily use more than the latest trend-driven features.
With 28.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price.
Is the 2020 Chrysler 300 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Review feedback points to a well-built sedan that feels durable, with owners often describing it as dependable and trouble-free over time. The combination of a smooth ride, strong power, and a roomy cabin also suggests a car that many drivers feel confident living with long term.
For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the model’s basic character and more about how well a specific example has been maintained.
What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Chrysler 300?
At 58.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with past damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, interior, and mechanical condition, since a large sedan like this can hide wear if it has been used heavily. Focus especially on signs of uneven panel gaps, interior wear, and anything that suggests the car has not been cared for consistently.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chrysler 300?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.
- Deal availability: 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 627 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.43% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 58.4% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $17,795, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2020 Chrysler 300's resale value?
The current average of $18,332 sits slightly below last year's $20,241.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For future resale, a lower purchase price can reduce your exposure to depreciation if you keep the car in strong condition. Well-kept examples should still appeal to shoppers who want a roomy, traditional sedan with a comfortable ride.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2020 Chrysler 300 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2020 if:
- 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 58.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.43% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $20,273, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $18,332 average.
- It adds a more upscale-feeling cabin with comfortable, quiet manners and easy-to-use technology.
The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction. If you can stretch for the 2021, it makes sense when you want to pay more for a newer model-year example and a slightly more refined overall feel.
