This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to reward patience.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $12,179 sits slightly below last year's $13,340.

That softer pricing suggests the Trax has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain the vehicle well, you may be better positioned to limit further value loss. The market still shows active demand, but resale strength will depend heavily on condition and history.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $12,863, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $12,179 average.
• It adds a more underwhelming overall value proposition despite helpful tech features.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if you want the better price and a broader pool of listings to compare. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2020 is the stronger shopping target; if you’re comparing across years, make sure the newer option justifies its higher cost with the specific example you’re considering.
