First introduced for 2015, the Chevrolet Trax, a subcompact crossover, was last refreshed for the 2017 model year. This year, Chevrolet carries over last year’s Redline Edition. The Trax competes against class leaders like the Kia Soul, Hyundai Kona, Honda HR-V, and Mazda CX-3.
The Trax features a jaunty stance that gives it a playful look. The Redline Edition can be matched with Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, or Mosaic Black Metallic exterior colors and includes black-finish aluminum wheels with red trim, black trim and moldings, black emblems and badges, and Jet Black synthetic-leather-and-cloth upholstery.
The Trax’s 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine carries over, with its modest 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive (FWD) come standard, while all-wheel drive (AWD) is available. Fuel-economy ratings check in at 26 mpg city, 31 highway, and 28 combined, while AWD versions sacrifice a couple of mpg across the board, returning 24/29/26.
The Trax is simple inside, especially in base LS trim, which includes cloth seating. Move up to the LT trim for premium cloth and remote start. A power driver’s seat, synthetic-leather-and-cloth upholstery, and a sunroof are optional in this trim. The Premier includes synthetic-leather upholstery and heated front seats.
A 7-inch touchscreen comes standard with the MyLink infotainment system. It includes Bluetooth, two USB ports, a 6-speaker audio system, a WiFi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Higher trims offer satellite radio and a Bose audio system.
The 2019 Trax earned a 5-star overall rating in National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) testing and mostly top Good scores in Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) testing. A reversing camera is the only standard active safety feature, but forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear parking sensors are available.
The Chevrolet Trax has a comfortable interior and some desirable features.

Its a base line car but very comfortable to drive even being 6 feet tall. It was all I need. Im not a bells & whistles person. Android auto is a great feature though! Took it for my first semi long trip of an hour and a half both ways . Had the Average MPG used up on the dash and had an incredible 32.8MPG for the entire trip! In cruise control most of trip. I couldnt be happier! You couldnt tell that the car had the 1.4 Ltr engine as the pick up was real good. Even on steeper hills there was actually no hesitation bringing speed up. Pleanty of cargo space and the back seats fold down if I need more for a longer trip. All round I was surprised. Thought I was settling only to find out I got quite the bang for the buck!Jun 27, 2023

I looked at all the competition and and the Chevy Trax beat them hands down. I purchased a 2020 Trax AWD LT and it has all the bells and whistles and comfort i expected. Getting in and out of it is easy. Has plenty of power to move in and out of traffic. Tons of storage and hidden compartments and that is with the back seat up. Fit and finish is excellent compared to the others. Only complaint is the gas mileage is a tad lower than expected, but since i only drive in the city that is to be expected. Will buy another one when i am in the market for a new car again. Hats off to Chevy for keeping the brand in my opinion the best on the market.Mar 08, 2023

Chevy Trax Dome lights won't come on when doors open
I have a 2020 Chevy Trax. For the last couple of months, I have noticed that my Dome lights won't come on when I open my doors. The switch Is set to door which for my car is the middle setting. I have an on, door, and off setting. Its set to door, but the lights don't come on. They will come on when in the on setting but obviously won't turn off.
