Generally — the 2020 Chevrolet Trax earns a 4.25/5 user rating, which points to a vehicle that fits buyers looking for a compact, budget-friendly subcompact SUV with easy maneuverability and affordability. The 2020 Chevrolet Trax was built around straightforward usefulness, and its first-generation formula had already been established by this point. What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Chevrolet Trax?

At 63.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any listing that looks unusually cheap. Focus on overall condition, accident history, and how well the vehicle has been maintained, since those factors matter more when you’re shopping a budget-oriented used SUV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Trax?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,666 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,282, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $12,282 sits slightly below last year's $13,592.

That price movement suggests the Trax has continued to lose value, which can be a downside if you plan to sell in the near future. For you, that means the best resale outcome usually comes from buying carefully and keeping the vehicle in strong condition. Because the market already reflects softer pricing, future depreciation may remain a factor if demand stays focused on low purchase prices.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.25/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.25/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $13,097, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $12,282 average.
• It adds helpful tech features that make daily use easier.

The bottom line: If your priority is value, the 2020 is the better starting point because it costs less and has a softer price trend. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year with a bit more tech convenience, the 2021 is the secondary path to consider.
