How much does the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro cost?

Prices have softened 3.93% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,006 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of cars to compare.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro earns a 4.6/5 from owners and a 7.00/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners repeatedly praise the thrilling performance, powerful engine, and fun driving experience. The Camaro also fits buyers who want a fast, engaging car that still feels distinctive, especially if you like the sleeper-style approach described in the overview.

The trade-offs are clear: poor ergonomic design and cramped rear seating make it less friendly for everyday practicality, and advanced safety features are not standard.

With 30.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car people enjoy living with over time because it delivers a fun, dependable-feeling driving experience and strong performance that owners continue to value. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Camaro’s solid, confidence-inspiring chassis behavior and its ability to handle both straight-line driving and twisty roads with ease.

The ownership risk for used buyers is less about mechanical reputation in the data here and more about finding a well-kept example, since condition and prior use matter a lot with a performance car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Chevrolet Camaro?

At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of hard use. Because this is a performance-oriented car, pay extra attention to how the car was maintained and whether any modifications were made. You should also focus on the cabin condition, since the interior quality and ergonomics are noted as weak points.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LT1 stands out as a sleeper, with basic Camaro LT sheet metal hiding Camaro SS go-fast hardware underneath. It is available as a coupe or convertible, and the broader lineup includes 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, SS, and ZL1 trims. The LT1 is the value play if you want V8 performance without the more aggressive appearance.
• Powertrain: The LT1 uses a 6.2-liter V8 with 455 hp and 455 pound-feet of torque, paired with a limited-slip rear differential, 4-piston Brembo front brakes, a performance-tuned suspension, and 20-inch wheels. It is quick and engaging, with strong straight-line pace and capable road manners.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes stability control, a reversing camera, and Teen Driver. Available safety-related features include OnStar connected services with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency calling, rear parking sensors, a rear camera mirror, and forward-collision warning. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and high-beam headlights are not offered.
• Infotainment: The standard Chevrolet Infotainment System 3 package includes a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, OnStar connected services, a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, and a 6-speaker Bose sound system. An 8-inch display, additional speakers, connected navigation, and remote engine start with the automatic transmission are available.
• Fuel efficiency: Official EPA ratings are 16 mpg city, 27 highway, and 20 combined. In testing, it averaged 18.6 mpg in city and suburban driving and finished the loop at 20 mpg.

Which 2020 Chevrolet Camaro trim should I buy?

The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro is offered in 6 trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, SS, ZL1.

Here's the short version:

• 1LT: This is the entry point if you want the Camaro experience at the lowest price, but you give up the richer equipment and powertrain upgrades found higher up the range.
• 2LT: This trim adds more comfort and convenience than the 1LT, making it a better fit if you want a more livable daily driver without jumping to the pricier performance models.
• 3LT: Choose this if you want the most feature-rich version of the mainstream Camaro trims before moving into the V8-focused models.
• LT1: This is the best-value trim for enthusiasts because it delivers the sleeper look and the 455-hp V8 hardware at a lower price than the SS. It is the trim to target if you want maximum performance per dollar.
• SS: Pick this if you want the more obvious performance step-up and are willing to pay for the extra hardware and presence.
• ZL1: This is the top performance choice for buyers who want the most extreme Camaro character in the lineup.

Advanced safety features are not standard on the Camaro, so you should verify equipment carefully on any trim you consider.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Camaro?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,006 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.93% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,757, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro's resale value?

The current average of $26,529 sits slightly below last year's $27,614.

That price movement suggests the Camaro has softened enough to create a better entry point for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. The current range also suggests there is still active demand, especially for the more desirable performance trims.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro safe?

The Camaro coupe earns five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, with four-star ratings for frontal-impact protection for the driver and passenger. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it top marks in frontal- and side-impact testing, though roof crush strength is rated Acceptable rather than Good.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety equipment includes stability control, a reversing camera, and Teen Driver. Available features include OnStar connected services with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency calling, rear parking sensors, a rear camera mirror, and forward-collision warning.

The main caveat is that advanced driver-assistance coverage is thin for the class, and blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not standard.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The LT1 sleeper formula gives you V8 performance in a low-key package.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $33,875, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $26,529 average.
• It stays true to the Camaro formula with few updates.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest value, the 2020 is the better buy because it combines lower pricing, solid owner satisfaction, and standout performance. If you are willing to spend more for a newer example, the 2021 is the cleaner alternative, but price-sensitive shoppers should focus on the 2020 and shop carefully for condition and history.
