How much does the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro cost?

Prices have softened 4.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,061 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the thrilling performance, strong engine, and fun driving experience. The Camaro also stands out as a budget-friendly choice for shoppers who want serious performance without stretching too far, especially in LT1 form. The trade-offs are a poor ergonomic design and cramped rear seating, along with the absence of some safety features. For you, that means this is a strong fit if driving enjoyment matters more than everyday practicality. There are 30.6% good or great deals in the market, which suggests you can still find attractive pricing.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in the ways that matter most to enthusiasts: strong performance, satisfying handling, and a driving experience people want to keep coming back to. The expert review also emphasizes that the Camaro’s dynamic platform gives it a stable, capable feel, and the LT1’s lower price helps make ownership feel more approachable. The Camaro’s long-term ownership risk is mostly about living with its compromises, especially if you expect a more forgiving daily driver.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Chevrolet Camaro?

At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because the Camaro’s rear visibility is poor and some safety features are limited, condition and equipment verification matter more than usual. Pay close attention to whether the car has the features you want, since equipment varies by trim and some desirable items are not standard.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LT1 stands out as a sleeper performance choice because it looks understated but carries Camaro SS hardware underneath. Base versions are more stripped down, while higher trims add more equipment and features.
• Powertrain: The LT1 uses a 6.2-liter V8 with 455 hp and 455 pound-feet of torque, and the Camaro lineup also includes other powertrain choices. The car’s performance tuning and rear-drive balance are a major part of its appeal.
• Safety package: Standard equipment is limited to stability control, a reversing camera, and Teen Driver. Available features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, a rear camera mirror, and forward-collision warning, but advanced driver-assistance features are not broadly standard.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, OnStar connected services, a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, and a Bose sound system. An 8-inch display, navigation, and additional audio features are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The LT1 is rated at 16 mpg city, 27 highway, and 20 combined.

Which 2020 Chevrolet Camaro trim should I buy?

The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, SS.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the most affordable entry point, but it is the most basic version of the Camaro and is best if you want the lowest starting price.
• 1LT: This trim opens the door to more equipment and is the best-value choice if you want a balanced Camaro without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• 2LT: You get more comfort and convenience equipment here, making it a better fit if you want a nicer daily-driving experience.
• 3LT: This is the most feature-rich of the non-performance trims and suits you if you want more amenities before moving into the higher-performance models.
• LT1: This is the standout value pick if you want V8 performance without paying SS money. It delivers the sleeper look and serious hardware that make the Camaro special.
• SS: Choose this if you want the more overt performance step-up and are willing to pay more for it.

Teen Driver is standard on the Camaro, and that’s a useful safety note for families with younger drivers.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Camaro?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,061 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.17% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,783, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro's resale value?

The current average of $25,546 sits slightly below last year's $26,658.

That price movement suggests the Camaro has softened enough to create a more buyer-friendly entry point today. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have less immediate depreciation pressure than someone who bought when prices were higher. For a future seller, the key will be keeping the car clean, well-documented, and in desirable condition, since enthusiast demand tends to reward the right example.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro safe?

The Camaro coupe earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with four-star ratings for driver and passenger frontal impact.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Camaro’s safety equipment is limited: standard features include stability control, a reversing camera, and Teen Driver, while OnStar connected services with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency calling are available. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and forward-collision warning are available on some versions, but advanced driver-assistance features are not broadly standard. The IIHS gives the Camaro coupe top marks in frontal- and side-impact testing, but roof crush strength is rated Acceptable rather than Good.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The LT1 sleeper formula gives you SS-style hardware at a lower price.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $33,960, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,546 average.
• It adds a more updated take on the Camaro formula with continued emphasis on power, handling, and style.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it combines strong performance with a lower average price. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2021 is the better path for buyers who want to stay closer to the latest version of the Camaro.
