How much does the 2020 BMW M4 cost?

Prices are up 5.10% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 155 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 BMW M4 a good car?

Yes — 5/5. The 2020 BMW M4 is a compact performance coupe that blends everyday usability with serious speed, and it keeps the driver-focused character intact with rear-wheel drive and both manual and automatic transmission options. It also brings upscale equipment and M-specific touches, so you get a more premium cabin than a basic sports coupe along with sharp handling hardware. 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 BMW M4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 BMW M4 is presented as a well-rounded performance car with solid value retention, which is encouraging if you want a used coupe that still feels special. Because it is a high-performance model, long-term ownership risk is still tied to how well the car was maintained and how hard it was driven.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 BMW M4?

At 70.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a shop that knows performance cars. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and signs of hard use, since a car like this may have been driven aggressively.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 BMW M4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 155 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.10% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 70.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $49,863, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 BMW M4's resale value?

The current average of $56,222 sits slightly above last year's $53,493.

That price movement suggests the market has remained willing to pay for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. A stronger current average also points to steady demand, especially for well-kept examples with clean histories and desirable equipment. If you buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition, you should have a better chance of preserving value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW M4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.10% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• It adds a more driver-focused feel with a manual gearbox and stronger enthusiast appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2020 is the primary year to target because it combines strong satisfaction, solid inventory, and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If your priority is a more enthusiast-leaning driving experience and you’re willing to pay for it, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
