About 2020 BMW M4
The BMW M4, a performance version of the 4 Series, goes into 2020 largely unchanged. It faces competition from the likes of the Cadillac ATS-V, Lexus RC F, Audi RS 5, Mercedes-Benz AMG C 63. The M4 is available as a coupe or a convertible in several eye-catching M4-specific paint shades, ranging from Austin Yellow to Sakhir Orange Metallic. The M4 CS is also available. The Competition Package offers 20-inch forged light alloy wheels and revises the suspension. Coupes get a carbon fiber engine brace, trunk lid, and roof, ensuring a lightweight body. The M4 features a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline 6-cylinder that makes 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, enough to send it from 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds. The Competition Package bumps the power up even higher to 444 hp. The M4 CS gets an even bigger boost, to 453 hp, and drops the 0-60 mph time to 3.7 seconds. It pairs with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). With a manual, the coupe makes 18 mpg city, 25 highway, and 20 combined, while the convertible drops a single mpg in city driving. The coupe, when equipped with the automatic, makes 17, 23, and 19, while the convertible makes 16, 22, and 19. Inside, the M4 has 10-way power front M sport seats with 4-way lumbar support and power-adjustable side bolsters. The interior comes in a range of leather upholstery and carbon fiber trim options. If you opt for the Competition Package, tri-color M stripes decorate the front seatbelts. The M4 comes with impressive technology, including the latest iteration of BMW’s iDrive infotainment system and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The M4 also includes a WiFi hotspot, wireless-device charging, and an M-specific head-up display (HUD) that projects speed, selected gear, and a color-specific digital tachometer with shift lights. The M4 has not been officially crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). An available Executive Package adds safety features like side- and top-view cameras, adaptive LED headlights with automatic high beams, and parking assist. Like the rest of the cars in the M lineup, the M4 is a well-rounded vehicle for anything from hard driving to a daily commute.
