You should start with a history report and confirm there are no accident or title issues before moving forward. It also helps to compare multiple listings so you can judge whether the asking price matches the vehicle’s mileage, equipment, and cosmetic condition.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.12% compared with last year.

What is the 2020 Audi Q5's resale value?

The current average of $19,148 sits slightly below last year's $22,038.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the key is to buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition so you preserve as much value as possible. A well-maintained example should still appeal to shoppers who want a refined luxury SUV at a more accessible price point.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,682, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $19,148 average.
• It adds a plug-in hybrid option for buyers who want electrified driving.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to pay more for the added plug-in hybrid option, the 2021 is the better alternative; otherwise, the 2020 gives you the more budget-friendly path into the Q5 lineup.
