The 2019 Toyota Yaris proves that small, economical cars don’t have to be boring. The Yaris is a sharp, modern subcompact sedan that also happens to be one of the most efficient non-hybrid cars on the road today. For some shoppers, the Yaris may look familiar. Every Yaris also comes with satellite radio with three months of complementary SiriusXM. The range-topping XLE trim brings a premium feel to the subcompact Yaris, with automatic LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and illuminated entry. Inside, the XLE trim features upgraded automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, and real leather for the steering wheel, shift knob, and parking brake handle. Every trim of the Yaris comes equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. It makes 106 horsepower and 103 pound-feet of torque, sending power to the front wheels through either a 6-speed manual transmission or available 6-speed automatic transmission. The standard 6-speed manual is designed with short throws, which will make for quick shifting and a rewarding driving experience. The vehicle also features a Sport mode, available on the XLE trim. Fuel economy for the automatic-equipped Yaris is 32 mpg city, 40 mpg highway, 35 combined. Opting for the manual returns fuel economy of 30 mpg city, 39 highway, 34 combined.
