Is the 2019 Toyota Sequoia a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2019 Toyota Sequoia. It stands out as a large, truck-based three-row SUV with room for up to eight passengers depending on the second-row layout, and it was built for buyers who want a body-on-frame SUV with rugged construction and strong towing ability. It also brings practical appeal through standard three-row seating and the kind of durable hardware that has long defined the Sequoia.

With 37.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Toyota Sequoia reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2019 Toyota Sequoia leans on proven mechanicals, including the generation’s 5.7-liter V8, and its truck-based construction is part of why it has a reputation for durability. It was also part of a refreshed generation that added updated front-end styling and Toyota’s SafetySense driver-assistance features, which supports its appeal as a dependable family SUV.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a large, older body-on-frame SUV can bring higher wear-related costs if it has been heavily used or poorly maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Toyota Sequoia?

At 58.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on every candidate and prioritize listings with clean records and consistent maintenance documentation. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and any wear that comes with heavy towing or family use. Because this is a large, rugged SUV, you should pay close attention to overall condition rather than assuming durability alone makes every example a safe buy.

If you find a listing below $36,770, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Toyota Sequoia's resale value?

The current average of $38,130 sits slightly above last year's $36,785.

That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay more for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. The Sequoia’s combination of size, towing ability, and durable construction helps support buyer interest, especially among shoppers who want a traditional full-size SUV. If demand stays steady, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than less distinctive alternatives.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota Sequoia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.66% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a strong choice if you want the Sequoia’s rugged, three-row formula with proven appeal and you can find a clean example at a fair price. If you are more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained listing rather than the newest badge, since condition and history matter a lot in this market.
