Is the 2019 Subaru Legacy a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Subaru Legacy earns a user rating of 5/5, which supports its appeal for shoppers who want a midsize sedan with standard all-wheel drive and a strong safety focus. The overview points to a practical, comfort-oriented sedan with a refined ride, broad driver-assist coverage, and everyday usability rather than flash. With 31.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Subaru Legacy reliable?

The overview emphasizes standard all-wheel drive, a safety-first setup, and a practical, comfort-oriented design, all of which support confidence in day-to-day use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the concept of the car and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by prior use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Subaru Legacy?

At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with collision records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of uneven wear, poor repairs, or neglected maintenance. Focus on overall condition and documentation, since the best used example will be the one that shows consistent care rather than just a low asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Subaru Legacy?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 595 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,962, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $15,962 sits slightly below last year's $17,020.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you can help offset some of that market softness when it is time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $17,775, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $15,962 average.
• It leans into practicality, efficiency, safety, and standard all-wheel drive.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2019 is the primary path because it combines a lower average price with strong satisfaction and a healthy deal pool. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year, the 2020 is the secondary path for buyers who want to spend up for a later version.
