CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Summary
With 1,260 currently listed for sale and an average price of $27,578.00, 32.8% of 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class models for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class 4.67 / 5 stars.
62.8% of 2019 E-Class models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class stands out as a luxury mid-size car that blends comfort, technology, and a broad range of powertrains. In this generation, the E-Class sedan is described as looking like a scaled-down S-Class, with a luxurious, high-tech cabin and two side-by-side 12.3-inch display screens that create the appearance of one large screen. Standard equipment is generous even on the least expensive version, with electric adjustment for the steering wheel and front seats, a rear-view camera, satellite navigation, LED headlamps, and a wealth of driver-assistance safety features. That combination makes it feel like a true luxury car rather than simply a well-equipped sedan.
For 2019, the lineup includes rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive sedan versions, both with mild-hybrid technology and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The E350 sedan uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 295 horsepower, while the E450 4Matic sedan uses a 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine with 369 horsepower. The Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid sits at the top of the range with 577 horsepower, 553 lb-ft of torque, and a 0-60 mph time of less than four seconds. Buyers looking at this car are getting a model that was already known for strong comfort and prestige, but the tradeoff is that it remains expensive, and some owners have noted that the interior design is starting to show its age.

Solid as a rock. A real cruiser, pretty low to the ground but the interior is as impeccable as an Italian suit. Except it is German! Quiet, composed and no one can tell how old it is. Bought it as a second car, and it shines. Run flats are noisy, may need different tires but so far that’s it. Get one that has been cared for.

| Year-Round Low | $27,366.11 |
| Year-Round High | $29,419.60 |

Prices have softened 5.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,269 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.
If you find a listing below $27,366.11, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?
Yes — the 4.67/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Reviewers consistently praise its luxurious feel, performance, and handling, and many also highlight the smooth ride and powerful turbocharged engine options. That makes it a strong fit if you want a comfortable luxury sedan with broad appeal for both families and professionals. With 33.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?
Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Reviewers also describe it as reliable and dependable, with a reputation that supports trouble-free ownership for many buyers. The strong satisfaction around comfort, performance, and long-term enjoyment suggests this model can be a confident choice if you prioritize a luxury car you can count on. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure prior wear and maintenance history are clean before you commit.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?
At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on bodywork, suspension feel, and interior condition. Because this model is valued for its luxury feel and technology, you should focus on how well those features have aged in the specific car you are considering.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.
- Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,269 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.73% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 63.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $27,366.11, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?
The current average of $27,578 sits slightly below last year's $29,255.
That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, softer current pricing can mean resale gains may depend more on condition, mileage, and documentation than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still hold appeal because shoppers continue to value this model's comfort and premium feel.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.73% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2018 if:
- At $23,450, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $27,578 average.
- It emphasizes luxury comfort and advanced tech with a highly praised ride.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $30,455, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $27,578 average.
- It adds a new base engine and broader body-style choices.
The bottom line: The 2019 is the best all-around path if you want a strong mix of value, owner satisfaction, and current market availability.
