Is the 2019 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Lexus RX earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2019 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers specifically calling out the value they see in how well it holds up over time. That lines up with the RX’s reputation for long-term durability and easy ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s overall reputation and more about finding a well-kept example with clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Lexus RX?

At 66.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage or repairs. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Lexus RX?

It looks like a buyer-friendly market, with decent deal availability and a meaningful amount of inventory to choose from.

• Deal availability: 40.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,216 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.74% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,921, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $27,993 sits slightly below last year's $29,081.

That softer pricing can help you buy more efficiently now, but it also suggests future resale gains may be more modest if the market stays soft. For a seller, the RX’s current pricing trend means you should expect value retention to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and history. Well-kept examples should still draw interest because the model has broad appeal among used luxury SUV shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 40.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $26,053, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $27,993 average.
• It adds a third row for buyers who want extra seating.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $32,354, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $27,993 average.
• It adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for easier everyday tech use.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2019 if you want the strongest mix of comfort, satisfaction, and market value. If your budget is tighter, the 2018 can save money, while the 2020 makes sense if you want to spend more for newer tech.
